Lovely inn with superb food, great beer, log fire and the most hospitable and friendly hosts. Our room was lovely and clean. Couldn't have asked for more, other than another night to stay. The haggis and black pudding bonbons are a must. We will be back!
Lovely Inn in a beautiful area with a stunning view. Attentive, friendly staff. Pet friendly! Our room was lovely and spacious.
furnishings a bit dated and tired.
Ther owners excellent and everyone welcoming and homely atmosphere
The beautiful views of the loch and soaking in a big hot bath after cycling all day!
Location, the friendliness of the hosts, the food, atmosphear
The log fires and the smell of burning wood
We found the stairs very difficult
log fires ,very dog friendly, great food and lovely bar .felt very relaxed and away from it all ,lovely walks and brewery not too far away .
-Cozy rooms -Bathrooms with a view! -Great bar with real roaring fire -Sweet collie dog Tim
- Wifi doesn't cover bar or restaurant area
Lovely atmosphere with friendly and welcoming staff, family run pub (Craig and Pip and family were very 'hands on') with clean, comfortable rooms, well cooked breakfast, a real haven of comfort on a cold winter's day with stunning views from the restaurant over Loch Eck. Plentiful hot water and a comfortable bed in quite a large room which was very good value for money. Pub meals served in the evening in the bar or restaurant were of good quality and the building was warm and comfortable with open wood fires adding character and keeping the place cosy. And Barbara was an expert with the Thursday evening pub quiz which was great fun.
There is a very narrow spiral staircase to the rooms which would be difficult for anyone with knee or hip problems to manage, this would be worth mentioning when booking. Wifi was available but quite slow.
Stunning views, the room was beutiful and the staff were so friendly! There are some nice walks further up the road opposite the botanic gardens!
The room wasnt available when we arrived as the people before us had checked out late, meaning we spent 2 hours waiting at their bar. The staff were friendly but we had to buy our tea and coffee rather than making it ourselves for free in the room.. it would have been nice to not have to as we were on a budget (especially at £2 a cup, we had been driving all day and there was no where else to go) but other than that it was a pretty perfect place!
Lake view, warm room
Extremely narrow staircase, very difficult to take bags upstairs. Also, there is no walking path along the lake which we expected. No fruits for breakfast.
Staff were very friendly & helpful. Great location. We had a room overlooking Loch Eck.
Food is below par. We had dinner which I would have sent back if the staff hadn't been so nice. Breakfast was ok. They need to invest in a proper chef.
The Location was simply stunning! The welcome was warm (nice log fire in bar area) and friendly. The food was fantastic.
Our double bed was two single beds pushed together which was disappointing. The staircase up to the rooms is a spiral one with no side rail and felt a little unsafe. There are no TV's in the room (although for some that's not such a bad thing!)
We have stayed here 4times en route to Scotland. Always a warm and friendly welcome. All excellent and hosts Craig and Pip deserve every success, together with their equally hard working staff. We will endeavour to keep on returning so long as we can tackle the quaint staircase!
Location, room, food and a wonderful view from the bedroom window over loch eck
Had a great stay very friendly owners and made to feel very welcome would highly recommend poor wiifii and mobile signal but just what you would expect from location would definitely return
No TV. Very steep stairs to bedrooms.
staff, location, very friendly, rooms very good.
stairs going to the rooms were very small and tight not any good for anyone with mobility problems.
If you want all the mod cons of a hotel with unlimited phone signal and TV then the Coylet isn't the place for you. If your seeking peace and tranquility, the occasional place you can get a signal, time to chat, time to sit and admire the view, the Coylet Inn is the place. Friendly and welcoming from the minute you step through the door. Nothing is too much trouble and its run by such nice people Craig and Pip. The food is good honest home cooked meals. A quaint and quirky place to stay. Just brilliant
we enjoyed the area ,the wildlife the accomadation, the quirkiness of the room. the food was really good ,the staff were really helpful and friendly.our hosts were always keen to chat and made us feel very welcome
our two days were not long enough
Friendly and welcoming even to our four legged friend. Excellent spot right on The loch side.
Staff were excellent Good Food Lovely location on banks of Loch Eck
Pleasant and personal staff
For a couple with a small child, the fit was cosy. However, Coylet told us this when we booked in March.
Breakfast really good Position in front of the lock
No curtains in the bathroom at the same level of the back garden
no TV or wifi meant total relaxation. Room 4 was exceptional..loved it!
