The restaurant food was exceptional
The hotel is located perfectly between the park, beach and shops. There are numerous places to park overnight. Only a five minute walk to the beach and sea front. Really friendly staff and beautiful room.
A spacious and comfortable room (the Belvoir Room) Friendly reception Excellent service Good food Pleasant view
No on-site parking though parking near at hand on the Crescent itself
Hotel was lovely, the staff were brilliant nothing was too much trouble and the food was fantastic can't wait to go back would highly recommend to anyone
location within easy distance of the Railway station. Good breakfast choice and service. Lovely big bedroom and bathroom relatively recently decorated and refurbished
the breakfast waitress was a star
...but the owner didn't seem to want to be running a hotel
We have had some bad stays at quite a few Hotels in Scarborough in the past 4 or five visits. We said one more try and at last we have found a marvelous Hotel, everything was just perfect.
Breakfast was good quality.
Room was very hot and only one window opened. This let in a lot of noise from drunken revellers outside the hotel also heavy traffic, though an attempt had been made to address this with extra glazing. Parking a particular pain, though outside noise and parking not the fault of the hotel. Guy on reception a bit lacking in people skills.
The location is very central The staff were very friendly and helpful The breakfast was good The room was clean and tidy There is 24 hour reception
Car parking is a problem. The cost is a reasonable £4 for 24 hours but there is no reserved space, you just have to find a space in the public street, which can be difficult at times.
Excellent location - clean room
Great hotel - poor breakfast experience due to staff shortages - in fact we gave up and ate down the rods even though we had paid for breakfast at the hotel.
Excellent central location - a short walk from the station and to the sea front. Very comfortable room and bed. Delightful and very helpful and friendly staff on reception and at breakfast. I would definitely stay here again. I chose well !
Bang in the middle of town and great for shopping, plus good position for sightseeing. The Hotel also has a lift and a well stocked bar.
Parking could be a problem, plus the room I had I was only able to open one window.
Large room. Great food. Friendly staff.location great
Friendly service - nothing too much trouble - good quality breakfast - overall very pleasant hand helpful staff - especially when it came to organising parking permit! Very important.
Nothing. Everyone was so helpful and friendly - both myself and my colleague will be staying there again next year.
Staff all very friendly and made an effort to make us welcome Quality and presentation of the food was excellent - we were not used to such big portions tho! Room good size and light
Parking is an issue in high season with no dedicated hotel car parking Perhaps the mattress could do with "updating"
Everything about it was fab.
The ladies at reception and serving breakfast were pleasant.
The man at reception was boorish and unhelpful. He greeted my wife with a sexist comment and tried to communicate in inaudible grunts. He was computer illiterate and got in a temper working out our bill, seeming to blame us and not bothering with the simple courtesy of saying goodbye.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was delicious, with a good choice available. The rooms had everything you could need & the beds were very comfortable. I believe this to be family run hotel and as such would definitely return.
the bathroom (room 11) was quite noisy, it was like a loud buzzing sound as though the people in the room below had left on the extractor. this lasted for the entirety of our stay, we kept the bathroom door closed to minimize the disturbance.
The location very convenient for shopping . Walking distance to the beach. Friendly staff.
The hotel doesn't have a car park but if you are lucky you can park nearby on a meter .
Clean and friendly
Decor a bit dated
Breakfasts - good and plenty of it.
Bed a bit harder than ours at home.
Excellent friendly atmosphere, nothing too much bother. Also personal requests for meals catered for. You want a fresh Lobster?. Then you get a fresh lobster and not overcharged for it either.
Proximity of roundabout, a bit noisy at night.
Large spacious bedrooms. Very nice not having to sleep on a hard bed!! So many Hotels have hard, horribly uncomfortable beds. Breakfast was very good, and the ladies in the restaurant were most helpful and friendly. If we were in Scarborough again we would definitely stay at The Crescent Hotel again.
Although free, the Wi-Fi was slow and very unresponsive at times. The wireless router needs updating/replacing.
Nothing to complain
We enjoyed everything, breakfast was really nice. Nicely cooked, all the staff were very friendly. Would go back to this hotel anytime, me and my husband were very happy with our stay. Room was lovely couldn't fault anything and we had a great view.
