Our room with the lovely view of Ben More
No wi-fi in room
Staff reception names unknown and Andy! :)
nice, friendly staff.beutiful room for dining in the evening and lovely food.
the window in the room was stuck open ,but this was quickly fixed by staff.
Fantastic hotel, fantastic location, fantastic restaurant and bar with very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Wi-Fi wasn't working in the rooms when we stayed - not a problem for me, but it was for my two teenagers.
The hotel is a great base for activities near the West Highland way. The rooms were clean and large.
Wifi was only available in the lobby.
The friendly staff Good internet connection Good restaurant/bar Great location
It seemed that the hotel was understaffed, making all of them serve several functions at once (with the air of being a bit frazzled).
carpets need renewing
The food is good in the restaurant; they serve my favorite Cullen Skink of any I've had in Scotland, including in Cullen.
Our room had a serious mold/mildew problem, with black mold covering a substantial part of the bathroom ceiling. We have allergies and asthma, so it was a difficult night. If we had been staying longer than one night we would have requested a room change. The hotel does need to be updated but it's never bothered us in previous stays because the location was convenient and it was reasonably priced. But this level of mold is another issue altogether and I hope they address it soon.
Friendly staff and comfortable rooms in a good location
Large and comfortable room Overworked staff did their best.
Restaurant - poor quality, understaffed, below average especially for price. Staff did their best, but were rushed, not enough of them. Lack of knowledge in bar for foreign tourists regarding which drinks to choose (not their fault). Desperately needs a major redecoration, very tired looking outside of bedrooms. Bathrooms need an uplift. Not keeping up with competition or customer expectations. Food quality was poor.
Food was excellent staff were very friendly we had a kingroom it was great very spacious en suite had bath and shower which worked perfectly would recommend it to anyone headin up that part of the country
The only thing was the pouring rain
Location of the hotel at the gateway to the Highlands. Nice Bar, Lounge and Restaurant areas
The room was old smelly and uncomfortable beds the bathroom was a cupboard would not ever go back to this hotel.
Clearly the usual chef was off when we stayed because the food was slow to arrive, unimaginatively presented and poorly cooked, and that was before we found half the packaging in what passed for vegetables. Not impressed; we are rare to complain but was pushed to on this occasion.
Rooms good size and easy to move around. Traveled with Mum and elderly grandparents (2 rooms). Staff friendly and helpful.
Poor tv reception and intermittent internet. Bad smell at the lift as a result of the hydraulic system, although a sign said this had been reported and was being attended to.
The room was very good and spacious and very clean
The dining restaurant was a disaster. Sitting on a worn and not too clean sofa with a very small table and too near the other guests. Service slow but didn't mind that. Why not use the breakfast room, airy and pleasant.
The location was lovely and the hotel comfortable.
Unfortunately the service we received was pretty poor. Not very welcoming nor considerate. We ate in the restaurant and although the pizza we had was nice it wasn't what we order. It had none of the ingredients we had asked for, which was then was met from the waitress with the comment with 'would you like your ham now!?' After we had Finished the meal. The bruschetta unfortunately was shocking. The breakfast was also a little disappointing and again we were faced with fed up waitress, which was very apparent to the ourself and the other dinners.
Breakfast was ok Central to get to Oban, Fort William and Loch Lomond
Room very small and Bathroom even smaller , the bathroom was so small ,no room to turn around in it was like a cupboard. it wasn't easy to get in and out of the shower/bath because it was so small. Its on a Road junction and near railway line ,so if you like your bedroom window open it can be a little noisy if your a light sleeper.
We thought a 3 star Best Western would be a safe bet but were sadly disappointed. The hotel needs a facelift. Our bedroom was ok apart from the duvet which was far too heavy for Summer. I slept with a cardigan draped over myself.and my husband kept a shirt on. The bathroom has been kept going on a budget and the mosaic tiling on the floor probably looked clean when it was new but certainly doesn`t now. The meal we had in the restaurant was poor and mine was inedible. Beer-battered haddock which was full of grease and had batter the colour of tea along with over-cooked chips and crushed peas which were almost completely dried out. The waiter was most apologetic and saw that it was removed from our bill. It shouldn`t have been removed from the kitchen. Breakfast was not much better. The cooked breakfast items were again swimming in grease, the scrambled eggs all in a big lump, fruit salad of apple, pear and a bit of melon in a watery juice. We don`t make a habit of complaining and this is the first time I have ever been moved to write a review but the sad fact is that we were very disappointed with the standard of this hotel.
Friendly staff. Great location.
Food portions generous Atrium was modern and looked promising
The maître d was eccentric The lift stank like rotten food The bathplug needed to be removed with a pen The scrambled eggs on toast came with no toast
Wifi not work in rooms. Overpriced drinks at the bar. No room to store bikes. Small room for the price paid,
Everything. Poor staff attitude especially the Maitre d - Andy - very snippy & bossy. Treated us as school children. Wi Fi inoperable & staff did not care that we could not connect. Odour in hallways & lift caused us to have to climb two floors each time we had to leave our room. Shower totally inoperable & once again staff didn't care.
Location was perfect for the reason we were at Crianlarich. Reasonably good prices for drinks. Pizzas were great.
Poor wifi in the room and TV was not tuned properly.
