it was a lovely pub, and the staff were great. breakfast was good, but slow. in a lovely location.

did think it was over prized for the size of room. been in bigger/spacious rooms for less price. and i stay in alot of hotels across the country. so would not stay there again, but would go for a drink in the pub.

The room was gorgeous, as was the bathroom. The corridoor is very deceptive as to what is behind. Would love to visit again soon and stay in the room all evening, as this time it was just somewhere to lay our head. Would also love to try the restaurant next time and it read, looked and smelt lovely.

The staff seemed a little off when we checked in. I'm not sure if it was a language/culture thing as he didn't speak that much. Also it was not nice at breakfast to hear the staff shouting about to each other and in and out of the kitchen with non-work conversations, although they were at least happy.

Beautifully decorated, welcoming and comfy rooms. Staff were very friendly and lovely atmosphere in pub/dining area. Would definitely recommend.

Loved the evening meal. Although not cheap the food was first class.

Minor point - my children would have preferred a bath but I am very happy with the shower.

was A nice place food was lovely and being A chef my-self couldn'T fault anything , look forward to our next stay .

We stayed on valentines night and was going to a wedding reception at quindon hall, the staff was lovely and rose petals on the bed was a thoughtful touch! We had a 3 course meal and it was very nice, the confetti and balloons made it nice and romantic too

The wait in between courses could of been smaller,(considering we was the only people eating at the time) and be warned the taxi driver was so rude, turned up early and we had to leave are desert and drinks as he refused to wait, when we got outside ( 2 mins late from original booking time) he had gone and we had to rebook another taxi!

The whole team were very helpful and friendly. The village itself was lovely and its only 10 minutes away from Saffron Walden, a delightful place to visit and shop.

Not much, best was the service from the breakfast waitress.

Mediocre undercooked food and sparse portions, poor or non existent mobile network, terrible to find by sat nav. Bathroom was very spartan with no radiators to warm towels.

Very comfortable, big bed. Lovely pillows. Good bar selection Convenient for Stansted and a much better experience than chain motels. Tastey food. Superb eggs benedict !!

Lovely room, comfortable and very clean. The food was nice but a bit expensive for what it was. Lovely warm feeling from the minute we walked in and would definitely return. Thanks to Aaron a lovely member of staff for being so attentive.

Crisp bedlinen. Warm and comfortable room and bed. Complimentary tea and coffee and toiletries. Lovely restaurant and good breakfast.

Bathroom only had a shower with a shower curtain.

The incredibly friendly professional team that make us feel at home every time we visit this romantic hideaway in a tranquil setting with the most incredible gourmet food on its menu! The rooms are very stylish, modern and cosy with all you need. Breakfast is superb, the restaurant is one of the best every I have eaten at in the UK!!! Prices very reasonable for the excellent quality of every service provided. Being away but being at home with luxuary!!!! Great place, would not go anywhere else...this is an absolute gem!!!
