The two dogs (who eat some of my lousy salmon). Good shower. Nice breakfast room. Good bed with up-to-date sheets, pillows, etcetera.

Very small room. No chair, so the only possibility to sit was on the bed. Cooked breakfast, supposed to be very warm, really was to cold. I'm sorry to say, but the quality of the food in the restaurant was poor the evening we had dinner there. Salmon with a homemade soi-sauce? There was some kind of sauce, but it really wasn't homemade. And why not serving fresh tomato's for breakfast, in stead of canned one's?!

The hospitality was excellent and the facilities were very good. The added bonus was Oscar the dog, he is lovely.

We were a little concerned that we had to leave our keys on the reception desk when going out and the reception was unmanned.

Friendliness of owner and staff. Food was excellent.

On-street parking. Thick feather duvet in middle of summer. Pets in dining area.

Very friendly owner and staff although we didn't take our dog it was dog friendly so if we go again we will take him

It was very hot so we had the windows open and although not a great deal of traffic going through the village it was very noisy

The staff and welcome were excellent. Very friendly and homely. Would easily book again if in the area.

There was nothing we didn't like. For the price it was excellent value.

The owner of this hotel is looking to retire and to my mind she will be a great loss to the hotel trade. From the moment I arrived she went out her way to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotless and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. I stayed for 2 night and I enjoyed a few drinks in the bar before retiring to my room, on both occasion I have to say the locals made me feel most welcome and I truly enjoyed the local banter. If you are looking for a friendly, comfortable hotel that is very good value for money then you should look no further

The fact that I should have booked 3 nights instead of 2 ;0)

    Friendly staff.

No parking, tiny room and small bed, food wasn't to the standard of the price suggested, no toiletries. Higher end price not reflected by mediocre facilities and general standard.

Very friendly and informal staff. Great friendly atmosphere. Very quiet location but with access to lovely countryside. Good, home-cooked food. Nice to have the hotel dogs around.

Slightly off the beaten track in a quite village, yet relatively close to the main A75 Dumfries - Stranrar main road. Warm welcome from owner and staff. Excellent food.
