Value for money; extremely friendly and helpful staff and owners, and also amusing, interesting and friendly locals ready to oblige with information and help. The breakfast could fuel the most energetic for a day.

Helpful, friendly, generous staff. Good location. Good choice for breakfast.

Cleanliness & maintenance of the property interior was poor (rooms & public areas). While the choices for breakfast were good, the fruits were wrinkled or going bad.

We stayed in Room 1. It was very clean, not a speck of dirt or dust to be seen. All the staff we met were very friendly, as were the locals. We didn't stay for breakfast but wished we had as other people eating when we checked out and they had an amazing selection of cereals and fruits for breakfast and the "fry up" had our mouths watering. Lovely selection of teas and coffees in room and very plentiful.

The room was small (but perfectly formed!) and very hot. We had to keep the window open all night. They did supply a fan but there was nowhere near the window to plug this in to circulate the air. The only place it could go was on top of the wardrobe which was no use to us lying spaced out on the bed about three foot below! I should imagine the room would however be lovely and cosy in the winter.

The town of Usk is overwhelming with it's history and beauty. It was a privileged to stay in a hotel steeped in the past with a resident ghost! Our hosts went out of their way to ensure our stay was most enjoyable. Next time we visit we shall stay longer.

Excellent breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff. Very handy for town and easy parking on site. Also interested in the history of the Inn.

It was a little noisy, but only to be expected, because it was an inn, so certainly not a big problem or a complaint.

    Very welcoming, excellent bed.

Unfortunately our room was over the bar in this very old listed building - and there is no sound-proofing, so we could hear all the conversations, the snooker games, and the music until quite late. We would stay again, but ask for a different room. Despite using 2 codes we couldn't get wifi - maybe an off day - not crucial on this occasion.

Great atmosphere, especially in the historic pub with its fireplace.

This is a historic building, thus you can clearly hear street noise as well as noise from the pub in the room. More important, this B&B had a problem with the rancid oil from the chip pan which smelled in the staircase and the room. All in all, nice place but too expensive for what you get, seems to be rated too high in comparison to other places.

The pub was in an ideal spot for our overnight stop to south Wales.

The landlord had a private party on the day we arrived, which made us feel a little uncomfortable.

    Location & price

Place looking a little shabby & old fashioned, when toilet flushed & shower taken, the water pipes sound like a jet plane taking off

The staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable.

Too expensive for what it was, really small room, and because the room was facing the street it was really noisy, as were the room next door to me so I barely got any sleep. The shower was awful with barely no pressure and had to leave it running for at least 5 minutes for the water to get warm, no shampoo, just soap. The wifi was really slow and barely worked half the time.

Cosy town centre pub with easy parking at rear. Friendly staff, good food and a nice pint of 'Bob'.

Not the pubs fault but noisy van delivery to shop opposite.
