Very good,

“The hotel was really lovely and the recp staff simply could not do enough. If you spent money in the bar they did not charge for car parking. Which was great! The rooms are huge!”

This 17th-century country inn has an excellent restaurant, free parking, free Wi-Fi and modern rooms with luxury beds and large, flat-screen TVs. It is close to Reading and Henley-On-Thames. The Crown Inn is in the village of Playhatch, between the Thames and the Chiltern Hills. Reading Train Station is 3 miles away. The Crown is known for its modern British food. There is a traditional country bar, the oak-beamed main restaurant, a restored 18th-century barn and a more modern conservatory. The stylish rooms have private bathrooms and are in the quiet residents' gardens and have private, covered terraces with views of the gardens. A freshly cooked full English breakfast is available each day. Hotel Rooms: 10 Unfortunately it's not possible to make reservations for this hotel at this time. Clean, modern, bed comfort excellent. Pub very nice and staff very efficient and obliging. Childern running about outside rooms first thing in the morning. Surprised that such young childern were there really would not really think ideal for families. More for discerning ocuples.

Separate guest rooms from the inn's dining area. Grassy area outside the guest rooms. Late checkout (noon.) Plenty of free parking. Comfortable, spacious room. Intimate dining area with good food. Bathroom not completely clean. Price of room and breakfast seemed high. No lighting for walking from inn to the guest rooms. It was very dark.

The setting of the hotel is lovely and really handy for Henley, with a large car park. The restaurant is huge and the menu looked good although I only had breakfast. The room I was allocated was in a small block adjacent to the hotel and was a good size. The en-suite was nicely decorated but perhaps a little well worn. A nice touch was a bottle of water and plenty of tea and coffee-making facilities. I was offered a hand with my case but this was not actually given. I was able to use the room earlier than check-in time of 15:00 which was much appreciated.

The hotel was really lovely and the recp staff simply could not do enough. If you spent money in the bar they did not charge for car parking. Which was great! The rooms are huge! The swimming pool was out of action ~ but this did not spoil anything. Aircon works but slowly and never went below 22degrees.

We have been using the Crown reastaurants for the last 20 years and have always enjoyed eating there. In fact, we lived about a mile away, just on the other side of the Thames and this time,we used tha accomodation because we had that day moved out of our home and were moving to the coast the next day. The wardrobe sliding doors came off the runners too easily (room 7)

The location is really nice and relaxing. Rooms are confortable and no noise come from the outside Unfortunately the boiler in my room was not working and I had to take cold showers. The hotel staff struggled to fix it, but didn't work out. I was anyway granted a big discout (without asking). No sign of fruit and yogurt for breakfas despite it was mentioned on the menu card.

The service is always excellent, as is the food. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Its no surprise that the Crown Inn has won awards, I would recommend it to anyone. No really healthy food option.

The service was excellent and the rooms are quite and very comfortable. One of the best places that I have stayed, nothing was too much trouble. I am a trainer by profession, run my own business and conduct courses on customer service so know the elements of good service and the Crown provide it - well done to the Crown team! No healthy option on the menus (low fat)

Perfect spot to explore Midsomer Murders County. The rooms are separated from the restaurant/inn, but very convenient. The meals in the restaurant are on gourmet level and breakfast is cooked per person. Only one point of criticism: the power outlets in the wall are under the small desk, so every time you want to charge one of your devices or reset a stalled sat-receiver (there is one in every room) you have to go on your knees under this desk.

The location (near to Henley-on-Thames), and also the rooms were excellent. The bar area was rather small to sit in and have a drink.
