Food Value for money
On the morning of departure day, we had a set appointment for an outdoor activity and were in a hurry at the breakfast and told her so. Yet after we finished the breakfast and asked her to let us do the check-out, she and other staff neglected us for about ten minutes.
The location is excellent and the pub has a good ambience. Breakfast was good with a varied selection. Rooms were clean although our room No7 was in need of updating Room No3 was lovely and spacious. Staff were friendly.
When choosing food off the menu, the specialities were very small portions and not good value for money. We felt the meals and deserts were overpriced.
Food and service were very good and staff efficient and friendly.
Location, easy access to Coniston Water and facilities in the village. Large en-suite bathroom
Indifferent staff Very hard mattress Poor choice at breakfast
location, outside seating, comfortable bed
lack of vegetarian alternatives on dinner menu, dirty dishes at breakfast buffet on 2 occasions
Good beer, plenty of car parking space.
Breakfast was bery poor, the continental version was just 3 bread rolls in a basket! Full english was very greasy. And the breakfast waitress (scottish) was very grumpy and lumped plates down etc. and impolite. Room had a very small window, so not a lot of natural light or ventilation. We were over the kitchen which was very noisy and had the radio blaring out. In room was about 40% overpriced imho.
comfy beds, good policte service, nice breakfast, clean rooms and great location
breakfast seemed to be hit and miss for full english. First morning we had toast with our breakfast, beans but no mushrooms. Second day we had no beans, no toast but mushroom. No iron or ironing board available or information as to whether it was available. Rooms were very hot.
staff were aloof
On arrival we checked in and told the receptionist our two friend's would be arriving later. When they did arrive they were told no room was booked. They phoned around and got them in another hotel. It ruined the weekend. We only stayed the one night instead of two.
its a pub rooms a bit small breakfast was fine but evening meals not very good
A very nice bar and food. The breakfast was really good
To much noise from drinks outside of the Inn. The shouting went on to midnight.
Location of hotel. Bus stop just over the road. Central in Coniston. Lovely rooms. Near to the lake. Have stayed here before but has been upgraded since our last stay.
Did not have wifi access. Did not think breakfast as good value as previous time we stayed. Our room above kitchen so was very hot. Be good room in winter but not summer.
Comfort and peace and central locality of village.
Carrying own bags to room after a long journey and later than I had hoped. I also live in a bungalow so climbing stairs with bags not so easy at 71! Later found that the shower did not work.... unfortunately I did not mention this until the last morning - 3 days later as I thought it was my fault and then no time as running late for a course I was attending. No doubt all my fault. But I did enjoy my time at the Crown but found the cost too high and would not book again.
very friendly staff and people in village
Location, parking. The food in the pub was excellent have the lamb recommended.
The beds a bit hard for me. Also a chair in the bedroom would have been a nice touch.
