The low floor which I asked for. Breakfast was good, didn't take dinner.
Yes it's very old but that's no excuse for proper up-keep to the rooms which it lets itself down on.
Price was very good value Cooked breakfast very good freshly cooked Tony and restaurant staff very efficient and hard working. Bar area welcoming and small lounge comfy. Very quiet village totally noncommercial with just one local pub
Mattress on bed was too soft for me Ivy covering bathroom window was creepy (forgive the pun) should be removed
The staff were very friendly especially Tony in reception who made sure everything he could help with was to our expectation
It is a very tight turn to get into the car park especially with cars also parked on the road outside the inn
How quiet it was. The location and the village
The bathroom shower
Lovely friendly hotel in a lovely quiet village. Food was excellent
Staff; Cleanliness; Misery
A great location with some lovely walks near.
Log fires were out, the restaurant was unavailable in the evening. One member of staff was doing everything, bar, reception and cooking.
Lovely location great value for money would definately stay there again
Bar and food
Room was good
No phone signal no wi fi in rooms
Dirty shower cubicle Bar not open till 5 PM needs a makeover being run on a shoestring
great "local" pub, great atmosphere comfortable, clean, warm bar menu is good
service a bit slow - very "Basil Fawlty" no close alternatives for dinner
Service, Staff very moody, no atmosphere, have stayed in the past been ok but not this time awful !
Easy going atmosphere,
A little more heat needed in the dining room & bar area.
Mattresses were lovely. Staff friendly and helpful.
Uneven stairs, sloping downwards. Limited evening menu.
Great location Excellent value B&B Comfortable, clean room Great breakfast WiFi works well
0830 start time for breakfast could be a little late for some people Be aware there is virtually no mobile coverage in the village of Blockley!
Breakfast Sitting area in premier room
Soft bed Poor WiFi - none in rooms Generally fixtures & fittings tired and dated and overall feeling of neglect.
excellent staff very good if you look for a quite place to rest.
Not for business. No mobile coverage No wifi in the room
Blockley is a relatively small North Cotswold village a little off the beaten track which may account for the good hotel rate, so expect to pay a lot more for accommodation in the more well known Cotswolds villages.
I'm being picky but all the bar meals were served with chips and there was no chance of getting an alternative to this. Consequently, we supplemented chips with garlic bread and salad at an additional cost.
The beams and facilities in the room. The bed was comfortable.
Channels not working on TV. The TV holder wasn't working so the TV tilted downwards. The room was tired and was definetly not was advertised which was very disapointing, we were misled to thinking the rooms were modernised.
Ease of booking helpful staff and even had my van jumped started by the maintenance guy when it didn't start in the morning.
Was Know thing wrong but lack of choice on bar meals
It's in a quaint village setting.
Warning there is absolutely no mobile phone signal in this village and the hotel internet connections are dreadful, rescued only by the BT hot spot accessed because I have BT broadband at home. Breakfast is at 8.30 am on a Saturday which isn't much good if you have to leave at 8 although the night before the hotelier begrudgingly said he would give me some cereal at 8...at it turned out he gave me coffee and some toast. There is a lovely fireplace in reception/bar area which want lit...'because the hotel wasn't busy enough'...thanks!!! Restaurant menu isn't up to much and some of the wine wasn't available...we had a bar meal which was ok and we finally saw a smile from one of the staff!! Such a shame because with a refurb and smiling/obliging staff this would be a great place but without either the other lovely hotels in the area will get all the trade.
All in all is was very pleasant
Food was ok , hotel set in a beautiful villiage.
Our room (no 3) was in a seperate building from the main hotel, we were unlucky enough to get people above us who for some reason wanted to walk around the room till 3 in the morning, so very little sleep was had that night.there seems very little attempt to soudproof the top room .would advise you to steer clear of rooms 2 and 3.spoke to manager in the morning who said he would pass it on to the owners.
