The Crown Hotel is a family-run historic inn and restaurant, built in 1610. It retains many interesting features, such as Tudor cellars and exposed internal beams. The Crown Hotel is in the center of the high street in Long Melford, north of Sudbury. The bedrooms are well-furnished and have a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. In the restaurant, modern British cuisine is served for lunch and dinner, and in summer, you can enjoy drinks and dinner in the courtyard garden. Hotel Rooms: 12

Everyone in the hotel was so friendly and what a warm welcome we got , was a great start to put stay In the twin bedroom we stayed in , my bed was right next to the radiator , that gets really hot and woke up in the middle of night after hitting my foot against it , and nearly flew across the room

Proximity to place we were to visit next day. Staff were "on the ball".Neutrogena Toiletries! Room and public areas very shabby despite real cleanliness and obvious pride in housekeeping.

Visited friends and toured the area. We thought the hotel looked tired and a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss.

Very friendly staff who were always happy to go out of their way to help eg. When required to check in very late (approx 11pm) and when arranging room for extra night. Breakfast was superb. Lack of o2 mobile reception in the area. We ordered lunch but starters and main courses arrived together.

We had a fantastic stay at The Crown Inn Hotel. We were a group of 8 in 4 rooms - every room was just lovely. Staff were super helpful - they even opened up for breakfast early so that we could watch the rugby! I would recommend the Crown Inn Hotel, both for accommodation and for food (we had a meal in the restaurant which was very good). Hope to return soon.

Lots of charm and ambiance in a very lovely location. The bar food and breakfast was pretty good too. Not exactly luxury but damn good value for money.

Comfortable, warm, clean, good sized room. Bathroom a good size with easily usable shower, and the option of a bath if required. Excellent supply of hot water and toiletries if required. Staff very polite and helpful, breakfast excellent and service good. Free parking just outside door. No noise from street traffic or the hotel itself. Tv in working order and tea/coffee making facilities in the room a plus.

It was well located in middle of the main street and parking nearby was easy. The staff were very helpful, the room was fine and we had a nice meal there that evening.Wine prices were good. Breakfast the following morning was well cooked. A good spot for an overnight stay. Our particular room was over the bar, but the noise was tolerable.

The breakfast was the only good thing !! The Room was very basic and a small double with shabby decor. As for the bathroom it was not clean with mouldy grouting and mold on shower curtain. All of the room and bathroom looked like it needed a really deep clean!!! For £85.00 I expected a lot better!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Location in Long Melford Poor welcome, rather grumpy. Room in annexe on ground floor, no window open, smelt musty, little space around bed. Not good value for money (£85 the night b & b).

The location in the centre of Long Melford was very good - it is a lovely village and a good location to explore from. No informtion on Long Melford Hall - just down the road. Somewhere to put your shampoo etc in the shower would be good. A hook on the bathroom door would be good to hang dressing gown. The kettle was very dusty.

The rooms and facilities were clean and functional. The full English breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good and within walking distance of other restaurants and cafes, and some off street parking. A good base to explore the surrounding villages and countryside. It was good value for money.
