Everything. They gave us numbers for the local taxi firms, it was quiet, in lovely countryside and the food was excellent. the beds were very comfortable and the room was lovely with plenty of room. I would definitely stay there again. Nothing.

Friendly. Good mixed grill provided as an evening meal. Obliging: provided us with an early breakfast 30mins earlier than their normal starting time. Car park: tight, cramped (watch out for the gate when reversing within the car park area)! We weren't expected (even though the booking was confirmed) - rooms were cold (though soon warmed up).

Friendly attitude of owners - nothing is too much trouble. Lovely open fire in the bar, a nice feature on a cold evening. We had some problems finding the Crown Lodge, it is best found by searching on Chapel Hill as the post code is rather misleading!

On arrival couldn't sort out booking. Then asked to share a bathroom with another room! Heating was turned off overnight despite -9 deg temperature! Bread sausages, toast pre margarined, cold baked beans for breakfast. Credit card pre charged before I could complain. All the worst aspects of a british B&B. Could be a nice place if the owners finally realise that Bonhomie is no substitute for poor admin, cold rooms and poor quality breakfasts.

The hotel was interesting and quirky. The breakfast was very nicely cooked. The owners were friendly and acommodating. Its different to most hotels i've stayed in with lots of colour and decor. Very interesting key rings for each room!!

The owner, Barry, and wife were reasonably friendly. The location: literally in the middle of nowhere with no buses. The restrictions: having to leave the premisses between 1100 and 1600 every day, whatever the weather. Locked out on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Breakfast: the sausages were the cheapest ever and the butter was actually packet margarine. Who has scrambled eggs on dried toast?

I really liked the friendly reception we received, the cleanliness of the hotel and room. The breakfast was excellent. Location is very pleasant not far from a main road but in a very quiet village where you could be miles from anywhere. We shall certainly be staying again at the Crown Lodge. The only thing I did find a slight problem was the size of the TV in the room, which was just a little too small.

This is the second time my wife and I and two friends have stayed at the Crown Lodge Hotel and we found everthing perfect. The staff were very efficient and freindly, nothing was too much trouble, they made us feel very welcome. The food was first class, the rooms very comfortable, the food first class. We shall certainly stay at the Crown Lodge again. nothing

Quiet peaceful location near to beautiful river and within 30 minutes of Cadwell Park. Couple running Crown Lodge were very friendly, and tried to be helpful, despite the obvious pressure of an almost empty bar, restaurant and accomodation. Regretfully the Crown Lodge was typical of a "struggling" business where the quality of the product (room and restaurant) and service reflected their so obvious problems. As a long time company owner myself I understand how difficult it is to reduce costs in hard business times without causing a knock-on effect on the quality that becomes a runaway snowball. Hope they can reverse this and make the Crown Lodge the proud establishment it obviously was.

My steak in evening meal Almost the whole place. The place needs a visit from "The Inspector call" . Follow his instructions in order to keep open as Lodge and Restaurant.
