Fantastic central location, lovely friendly staff. Hopefully I will be back soon.
Fantastic location, stylish pub and rooms and tasty breakfast.
Every member of staff I came into contact with was so friendly and polite. I'm a young female, I travelled and stayed on my own so was lovely to be greeted so warmly.
Location is good
Extremely loud music from the bar downstairs until the middle of the night Windows couldn't close There were no curtains 1 bathroom (1 shower, 1 toilet) for ALL the rooms
It's a lovely place. The room and the bathroom very clean and comfortable. The breakfast (full english breakfast) was delicious. The location is excellent.
The wifi didn't work so well in the room.
comfortable room,good tv and breakfast.
I suffer from copd and had to climb 2 flights of stairs.
Having worked in the hospitality trade for 20 years I was disgusted with the service and rudeness of the staff here, in particular SALLY. If she had been a member of my staff she would have been out the door faster than here feet would carrier her. I had booked the hotel for a client, it was quite last minute and there was football on so options were limited, it looked like a reasonable place. I expected that checking in would not be an issue in a licensed premises having worked in the trade and its very rare to be closed up and all staff gone before midnight. It all went wrong before my client had checked in, we received a missed call at 10pm and a voice mail from Sally at the hotel. We didn't get the message till 10.45pm as I had no signal at the time. The voice mail said that last check in was 10.30 so having missed that by 15 mins called the hotel straight away. Sally answered the phone and said we had missed check in now it's too late, we explained that we only just got the message and were told we had no choice. She was absolutely abhorrent on the phone to me, I considered telling her where to go but with nowhere else for our client to stay I bit my lip and let her continue to tirade down the phone at me. So with that we asked how we go about getting a refund she then said how long till we could get our client to them so we said 20 mins she said fine I will stay till 23.15 no later "I have things to do" we got there just after 23.00, walk around the outside of the hotel to find the door with that a window flung open and Sally shouted "WHO ARE YOU", I told her we had just spoken on the phone, with that she slammed the window shut then the door opened. She asked who was checking in myself and my business partner had accompanied our client. We went to step inside to make sure check in was all ok and she went to shut the door on us and said you can't come in (Charming, I'm only paying!!
Friendly staff good food great location clean comfy room
Location was great, 6 of us went and stayed in 2 of the 3 bed rooms, rooms were clean and basic. Shared bathroom was very clean. Food was nice and value for money. Would go again if we could have the same rooms. Ideal place to stay for a girls night out
The noise of bass from the pub below. And strange smells.
the location and the staff on arrival
you can hear everything that is said and done in the adjacent room; the staff at breakfast still drunk from the night before and could not give a dam.
Close to town centre. Perfect for young friends heading out to the o2apollo and a night around town
Friendly staff. Clean room, toilet and shower. Walking distance from everything. Option of free bacon in the morning is always a bonus ;)
I get very hot easy and there was no window for ventilation and a massive radiator in a small room however, there was a fan which helped. A positive for people who prefur toasty
Friendliness of the staff Location Washbasin in room Tea and coffee facilities
Very draughty window next to the bed (gale force winds at the time). Bathroom lock didn't keep others out even when fully engaged. Main problem is noise from the pub and the other guests.
Good access to the station.
Wifi was not working at all in my room.I had to go outside of the room to connect wifi. I had to share the bathroom. The shower was not working properly.Couldn't control the temperature.
Really pleasant rooms for what you pay for with separate entrance.
Took a while to find the correct staff to be shown to our room.
The location was good. The staff, although a little frosty at first, soon warmed and were very friendly indeed. They went the extra mile to ensure the staff arrived in order to cook breakfast at the best time for us. Thank you :)
I didn't like the general lack of professionalism. The barmaid of the evening was the breakfast cook. She was wearing her overcoat whilst going to and fro the kitchen and was presumably cooking with her overcoat on. One member of staff was smoking in the lounge whilst we came down for breakfast - ugh! The overall state of the accommodation was tired and tatty. No en suite, so a shared bathroom and toilet at the end of the corridor.
A work colleague missed her train after the Christmas do. So she came back to the room until she could get a train at 6am. They charged her £30 to let her out the building. Then demanded an additional £30 of us at breakfast.
The breakfast was particularly good and friendly efficient service
We had a great night, perfect location for the northern quarter car park around the corner, bar has a great atmosphere and lively lager, and the staff are ace. Thanks for the beautiful fry up to sort out the hang over, love to Melissa and ... we hope to stay again next year! Marianne x
Location to the centre of Manchester
Rooms were not en suite, bathroom shared by a few rooms
Proximity to Rail Station. Helpful staff. Moved to another room as radiator wasn't working. The price is fair compared to other city centre places.
The fact that it was not made clear that the rooms are not ensuite. Strange smell in corridors. Limited choice for breakfast. Very tired building and scruffy but spotless where it needs to be. Ok for one night.
