Really spacious room Nicely kitted out rooms. Great location as a base. Clean. Decent price for a family room. Good size family room. Nice 'in the price' continental Breakfast. Good to park. Very relaxed check-out.

Pub/Hotel did not appeal as a base or place you would want to spend the evening. Room access was 3.00pm, which we thought was late. No morning Hot Water. Wi-Fi does not get to all rooms.

Although there was no desk staff, the bartender was simultaneously the bartender, waiter and concierge and he had the energy to successfully juggle all of that work! Our room was very quaint, quiet and clean. Appreciated the tea and cookie selection. The hotel is also located perfectly for walking around town.

Family room for 4 (1double 2 singles) spacious and enough storage, small bathroom bit tired but loved the age and style of the whole place. Free parking and free wifi in bar. Gorgeous little village and good first stop for us in Devon as we travelled down from the north. Must go on funicular/railway..!

Apparently you have to pre-book cooked breakfast athough we were not told this on reservation or when we checked in with barman, who although pleasant but did not give us any info.

    Location

Lack of facilities. Hair dryer was cold and kettle gave poor taste of water. Breakfast was very poor.

Staff very friendly. Good location. Good sized room. Beds and pillows comfortable. No noise issues.

Parking is a bit tight (as per other reviews), but there is a council car park not too far away if no spaces left. Pub fare a bit pedestrian although the cook was super friendly.

Loved the location and ambiance of this hotel. The family suite was huge with a lovely four poster bed, & the kids had large bunk beds in their room, which were both very comfortable. Close to shops and restaurants, & the cliff lift to Lynmouth. The most peaceful & quiet nights sleep i have had in years, & the view from the room was beautiful....lovely little gem of a hotel

Bathroom was tiny, and the decor was a bit tired, but this just added to the quantness of the place.

The location was perfect, it was close to the high street, but still quiet. There was free parking which was safe. The hotel was very homely, beautiful wall paintings in the bar. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Everything was very clean. The continental breakfast provided had a good variety and hospitality was great. It was great value for money for our four poster bed room and we'd be thrilled to stay again : ) : )

Though the bed was comfortable, the mattress was quite noisy and we kept on waking up during the night each time one of us turned around. Otherwise no other problems.

breakfast was very good,we could have had as much as we wanted and a good choice of cereals, fruit juice and toast..

Dinner was served in the public bar, just the t wo of though there were some locals, including a dog at the bar so no atmosphere. Also we were taken to the top of the hotel only to find that we were the only two people staying there.I found the stairs very difficult..

The couple running The Crown were friendly which is the best thing I can say.

Was not very clean. Layout of breakfast room not inviting as was the staff in kitchen. A reminder that a cooked breakfast for extra would have been useful.

Good value and we had a large suite for our family. In effect 2 double rooms, one with bunk beds in it so we could watch tv and relax without waking the children. It was really cheap, especially for the space we had and the price of other accommodation.

The pub food was ok but the children's fish fingers were deep fried - not very healthy.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pub meals good quality and value for money. Plenty of space in rooms with separate shower room. Clean. Good continental style breakfast. Old building with interesting slopes to floors and walls. Rooms quiet. Good position

Bed pretty uncomfortable. Our room was very hot - at top of building on south side thus sun on windows all day. (Shouldn't complain).

The pub is as quaint as the village. The rooms were crooked and the floor leaned but I liked that because it seemed so old and original. Pub had great food and breakfast was included. Beds were very comfortable.

The location was great. Very friendly towards us.

We felt very uncomfortable when the barman (who was nice to us)was very rude and unhelpful to a couple of German ladies and then way overcharged them for their drinks.

Location good for shops and sight seeing. Not far from the cliff railway to Lynmouth.

Room was never made up. Tea facilities weren't replenished or cups washed up.Made the beds myself.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, beautiful location, and very well presented and tidy room, with lovely decor. Can't say a bad word about the stay!

The kettle took 10 minutes to boil, and the hair dryer was less effective than someone breathing on your hair! Parking spaces were very limited, but this can't be helped.
