Score from 205 reviews Good
The decor of the room and the view from the window all good. The receptionists were very helpful and charming. Surrounding are had beautiful walks.
It was spoilt by a very grumpy member of staff who begrudgingly served breakfast which was inadequate. eg one piece of toast each- not sure if it was stale bread or lightly done toast. No croissants and only 1/2 small jug of milk between us. Daren't ask for more!! She cleared my husband's plate before he had finished.
supposed to be dog friendly
Dog was allowed to stay but I would not say the place was very dog friendly
Our room looked out over cricket pitch and stream crossed by a little bridge. The walk in the 'new woods' was so enjoyable on a sunny and hot afternoon. The room was spotless
A long wait for food in the restaurant.
Friendly and pleasant staff, good food , lounge area comfortable, garden area very good and well kept . Also a large car park. We would recommend the hotel
The only negative was no wi fi connection!w
Relaxing environment, quality of Hotel , friendly staff..
Hotel very comfortable, excellent food, friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money.
Staff were very friendly. Lovely breakfast.
THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND A GOOD SIZE. THEVIEW FROM THE ROOM WAS LOVELY IT LOOKED OUT ONTO A STREAM. THE ROOM WAS VERY QUIET BUT THE HOTEL WASN'T VERY FULL SO THIS MAY HAVE BEEN THE REASON. HAVING BREAKFAST IN BED WAS A REAL TREAT AND ADDED TO MAKING MY STAY MORE RELAXING.
FOR AN OVERNIGHT STAY I DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING THAT I DIDN'T LIKE
Restaurant staff (dinner and breakfast) were not very customer friendly. As I drank a final cup of coffee at breakfast the waitress came and cleared the table including my saucer.
Very nice, clean hotel with excellent food and very helpful staff. There was a wedding on and we were given a room overlooking the cricket ground where it was very quiet. We will be going back
Very friendly welcoming and was able to bring our dog with use which is ideal
Everything!!Great location on edge of beautiful village, food good, ( eating outside next to the river ) room clean and everything works. Staff attentive. Much nicer and cheaper than staying in Swindon where I was working but only 20 min drive.
Stayed twice over a two week period. Second stay window cracked and woodwork rotten, needs replacing and Wifi intermittent. Small points, still a lovely placer to stay on business or leisure.
the staff members were nice. the location is good. the food (both dinner and breakfast) was delicious.
To our surprise, the bathroom door didn't close and we had to use a chair to hold it so that it stays closed every time we used the bathroom. We didn't notify the staff until checkout as this was certainly not a problem that could be fixed immediately.
Lovely room overlooking a stream and cricket ground. Room spacious, comfortable, clean. Meals excellent. Would have liked to stay longer.
Location was good for visiting Cirencester & Chedworth Roman Villa
Breakfast was quite modest & does not compare well to what you get in typical B&B
Excellent evening meal
Breakfast left a bit to be desired.
Very good breakfast. Comfortable beds.
Bathroom bin not empty, but sure it was a one-off oversight. Dated furnishings.
Location and value
Everything was fine except for mobile phone reception
The surroundings, our room, the food the service and the staff were all excellent.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Beds were extremely comfortable. Blackout curtains made for excellent sleep. Very clean room. Superb breakfast.
WiFi code did not work for us.
Quiet place and frendly staffs
Difficult to carry up big luggages because of no lift
Gluten free friendly :)
Service good when we asked to change rooms. Not able to help with bath tap not working. Restaurant is part of the hotel. Nice views at back over cricket field and short easy walks.
tap in bath didn't work and couldn't be sorted. Asked to change rooms as first room had a telegraph pole outside and a chemical smell. Starting to get on the pricey side (£115 for a room and breakfast).
Lovely aspect of the executive double room at the back of the hotel. Wholesome and well cooked breakfast, and sharing plates on the evening menu. Helpful and friendly staff.
Intermittent wifi! No phone signal inside the hotel was inconvenient.
