Staff were excellent rooms were clean and well equipped Enjoyable experience
It was a nice place to stay & just what we was after as we were going to Alton Towers the next day. Staff very friendly & the breakfast was all cooked homemade. Very clean & had a good nights sleep, in a good place for bars and restaurants but not to noisy.
We loved the old building with beautiful staircase and impressive panelling and huge fireplace in the restaurant. Breakfast was very tasty and staff friendly and efficient.
Nothing we did not like about this hotel and the town of Stone is very attractive
The breakfast...not good value for money
I hope that the new energy and up-grades to carpets etc will bring new interest for the village and a steady increase in clients. This Hotel deserves to be a success.
Time is needed for the changes to be implemented. The lodge accommodation is very dated and tired
Location in town centre. Main building style.
Room was very 1960's, including the bathroom. A bathroom ventilator fan in an adjacent room seemed to run all night. Poor sound insulation allowed noise from car park to wake me.
Clean room; excellent location; helpful staff
The room was boiling - I think they must have known that cos there was a large fan on the dresser.
Massive rooms. Excellent value for money. Free parking. Mexican Restaurant on site.
staff were friendly
Noisy pipes. Everytime sombody flushed the loo we could hear it. Doors banging all night. The bed was shockingly uncomfortable. Linen ok and so were the pillows
Great town centre location with friendly staff and free carpark. The bedroom was a good size, nice clean sheets.
I stayed in the Lodge that was not in the main hotel building. It was a bit fusty smelling and the room was quite shabby. There was tea/coffee provided but I think it had been there a while because the coffee tasted stale and I couldn't drink it. The bathroom was very small.
The position is good for the town and you can get to eat out easily. Parking is no problem. The staff are friendly but there are so few of them to try and do everything.
Don't stay in the Lodge - 1st room shown was dirty and damp with mould. Main hotel is better & had to push for a room there- don't bother with breakfast as staff may not turn up. The bar was lacking in all but a few drinks.
Location-wise its so convenient to shops, restaurants, grocery & transport.some staffs are friendly.
The electricals are way past their test date.dirty towels were left in the room used by the previous guest when we were moved to such room.the staff were noisy in the bar.smells of smoke in the room.the curtains in the dining is left as it is from day to night so people passing by at night peeps over the window.the bed sheets are not clean enough-hairs,nails found on them ?from cleaners or previous guest.alleyway is dark if you happen to stay out late.dining room&bar are not inviting enough for the guests.wi-fi connection is poor when you're in the room.
Hotel was unable to give me a VAT receipt.
Small bath sheets, no room phone, no breakfast in price, no toilet brush, could not get back in had to ring another hotel to wake the night watch man at 24:00.
Banging doors. In room 18 so we could hear the air-conditioning for the building running all night.
People were friendly, nice Mexican restaurant and bar, quite quirky with oak panelling, traditional element and then the modern bar. Easy to park, centre of town with lots of options for eating around the town.
Nice nice room with nice bath/shower and a lovely comfortable bed
Location and it is an interesting building.
The Hotel is old and a bit run down. It really needs a refurbish and clean up. The rooms are reasonable but downstairs it seems to be coming to the end of its useful days as a Hotel.
Took our money when we booked not when we checked in breakfast very poor
Room was clean, Bed was comfy,
Plastic spoon for the coffee.
Location in centre of Stone Comfortable bed
Tatty rooms You could hear every door bang and every time someone ran some water it was so noisy. Right beside busy road so again, very noisy.
Breakfast was first class and very reasonably placed, have paid twice this in other hotels
We stayed in the lodge which i believe is prob more up to date than the hotel. The lodge rooms are great. Lovely and clean.
You could hear the traffic racing past maybe better if double glazed. Some of the staff didnt really seem to know what they were doing
Would have liked a toilet brush in the bathroom
Friendly staff, clean room, good size room.
Broken tv in room (we're worried we would be blamed for it!), less than average facilities. Appearance of hotel and signage to find hotel was poor.
