Score from 92 reviews Very good
The staff are very friendly and the rooms are pleasant and comfortable.
The shower didn't work
receptionist brilliant, friendly and could not do enough for you. Despite very old décor the place was very clean and very comfortable, really a very nice place to stay.
Décor very very tired
Patterned decor overpowering
Service poor. Took ages for staff to do anything!! Cleanliness left lot to be desired. Felt like I needed another shower once I'd left. Booking.com definitely makes the place look better than is. I nearly died when I saw it
Friendly staff, comfortable beds, food good.good facilities.
Untidy car park, main entrance outside full of litter. No one cleaned this area in the 48 hours we were there and is probably not part of the routine daily tasks. This is first impressions for any visitor and should be priority but totally ignored.
Proprietors very friendly and ameable.
bar and lounge area
limited greasy breakfast
Bar/Restaurant shut on weekend.
Staff were very considerate and helpful.
Creaking floorboards. Would have liked Cumberland sausage for breakfast!!!!!!!!!!
Breakfast warm, toast like a dish cloth.Tables slow being cleared.Didn't have a choice of where to sit at breakfast. Confusion over which rooms we were to have.
Above average comfort and value
Too much floral print in the breakfast room !!
Friendly staff, parking. Good breakfast.
Booking.com booking not received by hotel
food and bar areas excellant
no desk space in room to work room in need of decorating leak in bathroom ceiling
very very cold room
The food was of a good standard.
The room was freezing and the heating in the room did not work and nothing was done about it during my stay despite me mentioning it. The towels in the bathroom were frayed and an off white colour. Although the bedroom doors automatically locked when closing, there was no additional internal lock and as a woman travelling on her own this is something that I would expect all hotel rooms to have.
The hotel was very near the centre with good walking distance
There was no double glazing it was blowing a gale and kept waking us up
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Bar poorly stocked (my first two choices of mixers were not available).
Location was good for the town centre staff friendly at all times would go again
We were welcomed warmly.
Decor is a little weary, beds uncomfortable, one night we had to ask for blankets, one was dirty. Our second morning we had to wait 45 mins with other guests for staff to arrive at breakfast room
Nice bed linen - clean and white with modern coverlet
Old smelly cold bathrooms Cold bedrooms Dated decor Very expensive Poor breakfast
Poor decor in bedroom and en-suite. Electric socket hanging off wall very close to bed Very small TV Hotel caters to bus group and facilities are only available when coach party are in hotel
Please dont do it to your self, this is by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed at, we couldnt have dinner one night because apparently they close the doors after 11 and it wont open till 7 in the morning. The service from the employees is just unacceptable they were rude with their approach towards us. Please dont waste your money.
Was very helpful
Was told there would be somewhere for me to keep my bicycle but there wasn't. Then when i arrived asked again and was told it would be put in a store room and would be out for me in the morning when i leave, went down to check just before i went to sleep and was still out so i ended up locking it safely.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good location opposite the station and a short walk to the shops. Rooms clean and comfortable.
Breakfast a bit chaotic due to a coach party staying and only one staff member serving.
Everything!! Rubbish rude staff, dirty, badly maintained, they double booked my room and kept me waiting for ages, dirty tables, cutlery, crockery at breakfast, tv had all the wires pulled out - had to figure out how to reconnect and tune, noisey even though I was on the top floor. No one should ever stay here!
