A wonderful hotel in a gorgeous setting xx
Room size was Good. The restaurant and food were excellent as was the view from the back of the hotel
lovely rooms great staff nice spa good restaurant excellent location
pricey lighting a bit gloomy in the bathrooms!
the view on the lake the massages in the spa the meals the kindness of the staff
Beautifully cooked dinner in the evening and excellent table service. Nothing too much trouble for staff. Very comfortable bed and fresh bed linen. Big car park & convenient for tourist sites.
There didn't seem to be any private changing rooms in the spa. Pool rather small and had underwater dividers which one couldn't see when swimming around pool.
Location Friendly staff Very comfortable beds The views Lovely fresh room Tea/coffee. Akimg facilities Luxurious shower
Poor lighting in room. Bedside lights particularly bad. No extractor fan in bathroom No fridge in room
Excellent, large room with very comfortable bed. Lovely valley view from bedroom window. Bathroom was spacious and well equipped. Tea and coffee making facilities were ample. Excellent spa. Attractive dining and sitting rooms.
Restaurant menu remained unchanged during the five days of our stay. Service was sometimes amateurish and lacking in confidence.
Beautiful patio with lake view. Clean comfortable room & bed.
Brown decor was a bit bland. Ran out of plain yoghurt at breakfast.
shower, huge bed, outside patio area, breakfast
Did feel like a premier inn when could of been so much more
The rooms, bar and restaurant were lovely
Staff didn't bend over backwards to help us. Both our r
excellent located good quality for dinner - especially the lamb
no service on the trerrace pool not for swimming - only whirlpool
Location and relaxed atmosphere
The pool is not really designed for swimmers and there may be health and safety issues with some of the submerged partitions
very nice modern rooms and good service. very clean beautiful building with beautiful surroundings
Staff at reception didn't have much suggestions on what to do We were given a nice room but with one window with no view. all we could see is other rooms. When asked if we can change rooms they said no rooms were available.
Amazing Spa pool! Pleasant dining room and good breakfast.
Confusion with room description between booking and the hotel, however, this was resolved by the very helpful young man on Reception.
Bedroom and air conditioning.
Lack of open bar at ground level and bar staff not always knowledgeable about drink accompaniments eg no cucumber served with Hendricks and no bar snacks served with drinks.
everything! especially late checkout 11 am. Delicious food in the restaurant both evening meal and breakfast. Lovely pool and spa area. Everywhere kept beautifully clean. We are coming back!!
having to pay extra to use the spa after checking out (I am being picky saying this!)
Beautiful views from our window. We stayed for a wedding, staff where exceptionally friendly and welcoming. It rained during our stay which was a shame as if looked like there's some beautiful walks right on the doorstep.
Felt that 11am check out was early given you couldn't check in until 3pm.
The cleanliness of the hotel with fantastic spa facilities
The best hotel and staff I ever seen
No thing ,,only
Perfect location on the edge of Rydal waters. Smart and modern rooms. Best night sleep ever had...bed so comfortable! Meal in evening was top draw, beautifully presented and lovely staff. Breakfast, yum. A great stay, thank you.
Disappointed that we weren't allowed to sit out on the gorgeous terrace looking out on to the lake, having a cream tea! What is the point of having that there if have a fussy rule about no food! Not sure about the transfers of animals on some of the corridor walls!
Good food, loved the decor, friendliness of staff. Highly recommend the property and afternoon tea experience
I would have preferred the afternoon tea to be served not in the dining room preferably the lounge or terrace as expected.
Our room was lovely, bathroom excellent, bed comfortable. The situation of the hotel was fabulous, the terrace in the sunshine was all you could wish. The spa facilities were lovely but the pool is not for swimming, power jets for massage were amazing.
We had a beautiful afternoon, sitting on the terrace and wanted an afternoon tea, not possible!! We went over the road to the Wordsworth teashop and the service was excellent as was the food. The Spa area is lovely but the floor is lethal without any non slip mat or even rails along the wall. A tumble dryer would be useful for wet swimwear. The Spa should have be open longer than 6.30, if we had gone walking it would not have given time enough to enjoy the facilities. We were disappointed that we were not allowed to use the Spa facilities on the day we checked out. The atmosphere is not particularly welcoming, very empty feel, more like a waiting room for the dentist. We love Grasmere but will try one of the other hotels next time.
The Daffodil has got most things right- lovely location- beautiful rooms with lake views - nice food in restaurant-modern decor - lovely lakeside terrace for drinks
Poor service in restaurant staff need more training. Bar in reception closes at 5or 6pm and its a long way to the other bar if you want to sit out on the terrace.
the whole atmosphere was relaxed, very good breakfast, fantastic room and amazing bed
no wardrobe for longer stay and no fridge/chiller, mini bar
