Noises from above were intermittent throughout the night. Which disturbed our sleep. Sounded like a very loud hand dryer going off. Annoying. Majority of staff were polite and friendly. Some seemed like they didn't want to be there and lacked enthusiasm. Evening meal was lovely but staff didn't come back after our meal to check if we wanted desert and we was not even offered a desert menu. Again breakfast was lovely but after being seated we were not informed about the hot buffet or it's location. Also after our initial coffee we were not asked if we wanted anymore drinks.
The comfiest beds, spacious rooms, big baths. Struggling to leave the hotel over our stay enjoyed our stay can't wa to return.
Excellent service in the restaurant. Good variety of choice at breakfast.
Cancellation of spa treatment due to staff not turning up. Not sure if employed by hotel or freelance. Buyer beware.
A relaxing and enjoyable stay. We will definitely return to this hotel
On arrival being told we were receiving a free upgrade to a suite. Stylish, clean, comfortable and welcoming hotel.
Minor complaints of bath tap being out of reach when in the bath and no skimmed milk for breakfast. Still- it was the perfect break!
We had a really nice stay and are looking to come back soon
The staff were ALL superb. The hotel is quirky, very comfortable with great views.
What's not to like!
Very comfortable, spacious, spotless accommodation
Hydrotherapy pool was pretty cold, steam room was only luke warm, restaurant choices limited.
The beautiful location, cleanliness and comfort of the facilities.
Spa experience was okay but staff didn't explain spa procedures and seemed a little in disarray at times.
the view of dunmail raise from my room when I was cosy in bed watching the snow coming in,priceless
The room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Lovely view of the lake Friendly staff, stylish decor
The spa pool was cold
friendly staff, clean, very nice hotel, we went for my parnters birthday and they left a bottle of bubbly in our room, free of charge, very kind. we will definately go back.
Couldn't use pool/spa area at all and no room in restaurante for dinner
Only stayed at the hotel for one night but felt very welcome right from entering the foyer. From reception to dining to spa all staff met were well trained and on the ball. The general ambiance of the hotel is relaxing and comfortable. Would stay again. You must walk the corridors and look at all the pictures.
Booked a no view room this was ok with a reasonable view to the village over the car park, first floor, but some adjacent to 110 look out onto ventilation ducting which can be noisey.
Food staff and hotel excellant, it gets better with every visit also great room overlooking the lake
Bit pricey at the bar
Scenic location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Roomy and comfortable bed. Spa facilities were excellent. All in all we had a delightful stay to celebrate my 70th birthday. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Daffodil to others.
Loved the location of the hotel. The 2 young bar staff on Saturday night 16th January were superb.. The power shower was fab...
Pool in spa was cold... I was so looking forward to a pamper but couldn't spend long in the pool as not comfortable. Iron in the room looked unsafe as the cord was worn and iron leaked. Safe didn't work and there was no fridge in the room?..
Spacious, comfortable corner bedroom. Pleasant spa with large steam room and sauna.
Cool 'thermal' pool (due to a breakdown).
Lovely and clean room with a nice view of the valley. Food was excellent at dinner.
Everything. The room was incredible, we felt like royalty we really did. I'll remember the weekend for years to come.
The wifi was surprisingly unreliable. I don't know if it was just the location of the room, but it was pants.
1:location 2: comfort 3:quiet 4: wifi
1:food selection was not wide enough. 2: bar was small.
The fact we couldn't get any treatment s done yet the hotel wasn't very full , you need to inform your clients that they need to pre book . I didn't think the need to pre book beginning of jan on a tues
Spa and food
The friendly staff and the most fantastic views over Grasmere.
Disappointed that most of the appointments for the Spa treatments were all fully booked so would advise to book these in advance before you go.
