The staff were friendly, attentive and courteous. The food available in the bar was of a good standard and value for money.
Staff were friendly and helpful Everything was clean
The outside of the property needs some renovation. The inside was clean and tidy but needs some updating.
Location was great. Room was a good size.
Room was damp. Window latches were broken. No shampoo in the bathroom. Receptionist having a fag outside the front door.
Location good. Had a comfortable night. Enjoyed breakfast - help yourself drinks and toast good.
Room needed dusting and shower cleaning. Only one chair provided.
Hotel has a good location right next to the Devils Punch Bowl and is very quiet at night. Breakfast was good with range of cereals and good Full English. Bedrooms and bathrooms very clean.
The hotel seemed quite tired and needs some updating as quite old fashioned in areas.
Evening staff were helpful, friendly and good service. Room was fine, warm, adequate with bath. Ground floor, looked out at trees. Good menu and good food, reasonably priced. Loved the location right on Devils Punch Bowl. Car parking no problem. We will be back to do walks and stay at this hotel.
Breakfast staff not so helpful, friendly and no service. Pillows were horrendous, small and hard - we did complain in the morning. Continental breakfast was not evident. No 'soft' fruit for b'fast e/g tinned grapefruit. No rolls. 1 toaster for 4 slices, so basically used by 2 people at a time. Eggs congealed, but nice bacon, sausages, hash browns, tomatoes.
Excellent breakfast selection
Value for money with a good cooked breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Bedroom was big and bed was comfy but a bit small, furnishings a little old fashioned. Room and bathroom were clean. Location was great, right next to the National Trust Car Park for the Devil's Punchbow.
Hotel was a bit tired and could do with a coat of paint and/or refurb in places.
Right on the Devils Punchbowl itself, so straight out of the door you are in walking and rambling territory. The road outside is a deadend so no traffic noise at night. Plenty of parking. Breakfast is plentiful.
Rooms are past their best decor wise, needs a spruce up.
The facilities were very clean and well looked after. The location of the hotel was in an idealic, quiet location which was very straight forward and easy to find. The free wifi was appreciated as was the tea and coffee facilities within the hotel room.
The decor of the hotel room was very cold and dated. The temprature of the room was uncomfortably cold due to the broken window frame preventing the window from shutting properly. The matress on the bed was very uncomfortable with various springs protruding, the duvet was also very thin. A bright green light, highlighting the fact that the only door to the room was the exit, contributed to the poor nights sleep
Nice quiet location.
Décor is a bit tired.
Nice building with some original features. Good location. Quiet in bedrooms. Staff pleasant. Good value.
Didn't realise cost of breakfast not included in basic price. Building is tired and grubby. Food average, but pretends to be better with unusual but ineffective items like vanilla mash (yuk!) and sauces too sweet. Constant music in passages.
Everything was a bit dated and cleanliness could have been better.
Family Frindly Excellent service
Needs some updates
Breakfast was good and the best room in the hotel.
Bar area did not have a cosy atmosphere, the hotel is very dated and is in need of modernizing, decorating and cleaning.
Wifi was a bit hit and miss
Hotel excellent for visiting Punchbowl Grayshot Beacon Hill Haslemere and areas around and for D Day Museum Overland Embroidery at Southsea Portsmouth.
I stayed there for 1 night following a wedding at a nearby hotel. For that reason the hotel was well located.I booked a single room which was a good size with a double bed and a good size ensuite The hotels location so close to the Devils Punch Bowl Country park was a surprise and a delight.
I was given a ground floor room number 102. The room smelt musty and felt like it needed an air and also suffered from moths. One emerged from behind the kettle another from behind the mirror and two others fluttered around all night. Sadly resulting in a poor nights sleep
Hotel rooms need modernising, and bar needs a bit more atmosphere. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Very pleasant patio area of bar.
The double bet was a bit small by today's standards
Wifi didn't work on our room 314
Love the location & the fact that it's not a modern building. Also the history of the hotel & the punchbowl itself is very interesting. Have visited many times.
Good location, cheap and the restaurant was nice
Room was very noisy (above reception) and bed uncomfortable (but if you like hard beds you would be fine!£
