The Devil's Punchbowl Hotel  

Cleanliness of the bed linen I would recommend as there are not many hotel's in the area and it is adjacent to National Trust countryside as we are members

Four of us were having evening dinner. I had invited two persons to join us for this dinner. No desert at 09.15 as chef had gone home. Sunday morning breakfast had a long wait for cooking as there was a large group in and could'nt cope with the volume Dust in bar area on dido rail. Room was cold luckily it had an oil heater but it smelt damp.

Very friendly staff, and comfortable room. Ideal location for exploring the beautiful Surrey countryside near the Punchbowl

The food is excellent. The Service is excellent. Very good value. Lovely walks from the front door down the devils punchbowl

The area is in course of development and the hotel feels a little run down as a result

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food was appetising and beautifully presented. The best curry I have had for a long time - full of chicken.

We were cold as obviously the heating was turned off as it was, of course late May! Not really the fault of the hotel - no-one can predict or control the weather!

Food was lovely & the staff were friendly although they appeared to be too busy, this was not due to the hotel being busy though.

The room was very very tired & windows were not secure enough to open as they probably would not close again. Bathroom was in desperate need of a refurb, huge crack in sink, shower worked reasonably well but has certainly seen better days. The en-suite smelt really rotten. Shame as the hotel has real pot

All food and prices Breakfast was not traditionally British. No tea pots - come on. Eggs and bacon cooked too far in advance and the evening meal was not at all satisfactory we took meals at the dp café thereafter - cleaner tastier and cheaper.

The food was good as was the wifi coverage

only stayed 1 night but room comfortable and staff very helpful when we explained we had to leave early next morning let us into restaurant early and even provided bacon sandwichs.

the location was ideal for me. the staff were friendly and helpful. the breakfast was really good. the rooms were comfortable.

only arrived 9.30 pm for overnight stop- but staff all seemed friendly & breakfast was good

family room was very cold on arrival probably hadnt been used recently so maybe would have been nice to have even put rads on low for a short time when they were expecting a child - just minor gripe though

it was a lovely location with friendly staff and a modest price as well, will be staying there again

Cheaper than others in the area position on greensand way good , bedding towels, clean

Mould and nonshutting window in bathroom and peeling ceiling paint. No possibilities to have a quiet meal in the hotel. Bar very noisy, loud music, restaurant shut sat night.Forced to drive into haslemere to seek restaurant without loud music

The outside of the hotel did not enhance or sell the hotel to the casual tourist

The mattress was too small for the bed and uncomfortable. A birthday party kept us awake until 3am. There was a lot of dust in our room. Was not worth the money.

Staff were welcoming and friendly despite there being a booking miscalculation. The guy was very calm.

The all round Hotel was good. The breakfast was value for money. I was impressed by the sound proofing as we could not hear the functions going on the Russell Suite.

There was a function at the hotel when we got back from our do, and we had to walk through it to get to our room. We suggest that there should be a seperate entrance for guest (who are not attending the function) when functions are going on. Also as a resident at the time we were not allowed to get a drink from the bar unless we were guest at the function. Also the guest at the function we very intimidating towards us, this made us feel very unwelcome.

Very helpful re room selection to ensure we were as far away from the 18th birthday party noise. Very comfy bed too.

Breakfast this time was not organised well, seemed to be a lack of essentials for getting the food, the cooked meal was really good

The hotel was lovely and the staff were all very helpful, couldn't fault the food either!!

The bed was very hard and the shower room floor was so warped it was dangerous to walk on.
