Food was excellent throughout. Staff attentive and friendly.
Bed on the soft side!
We were made to feel welcome by the staff and even the general manager worked in the restaurant and 'meeted and greeted' the customers. Terrific service.
Because of the new building work parking was a 'bit' of a problem alongside white vans etc. This will resolve itself when the building is completed. I am looking forward to the gym on future visits.
The location which was central but not too full of traffic. We both enjoyed the meals in the restaurant which had a varied menu. The rooms were comfortable and had plenty of storage. Also the cost was very reasonable.
I don't think there was anything we did not like.
The food and drink were good. The bed was comfy and the room quiet.
Having stayed here before I was disappointed with Room 19 as the wash basin was in the bedroom and not in the bathroom. This is unsatisfactory from a sanitary point of view. The room should be updated.
The food, accommodation, staff.
The hotel was in a good location on the SW outskirts of Exeter' The breakfast facilities in the restaurant building were good
The hotels website images fail to disclose that the accommodation is not in the restaurant building and is instead in a poorly constructed two storey building to the west. Access to the rooms is somewhat tortuous with steps up and down from a first floor corridor. While there is convenient parking outside the accommodation it was (in early October 2014) shared with vehicles associated with the construction of a further block. The rooms were small with inadequate circulation space and wardrobes.
everything......we keep going back
It was friendly without being matey. Food was excellent value. Staff were always helpful and polite.
The building works but that's just our tough luck.
Good breakfast. Easy access to Exeter by car.
Poor sound insulation from the road noise and creaky floor upstairs.
-The bed was very comfortable. -Free TV was enjoyable. -The bathroom was very clean and well presented. -The staff were very polite. -The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of choices. -The tea/coffee making facilities were very efficient.
-I was able to connect to the free wifi but unfortunately my partner could not. -We could hear two males talking next door but we understand that cannot be helped.
quality and price of meals.....comfortable seating good wine
walking from bedrooms to restaurant in the rain. No ground floor rooms with king-size bed
All the above and friendly staff !
Excellent breakfast. Rooms clean and comfortable.
Excellent location friendly staff super restaurant.
The room was very small and had too much furniture in it. There was a terrible smell in the bathroom. It was in desperate need for a change.
Noise from road
Room was clean, bright and pleasant. staff were friendly and attentive
Room was a little on the small side but it was a single so to be expected.
The room was spotlessly clean. Very nice bathroom. Breakfast was excellent
Hotel is situated on a busy roundabout. The room was quite claustrophobic. When we opened the windows, it was very noisy. Bar prices were excessive!
Pleasant restaurant, lovely floral exterior. Room and bathroom very clean.
Small stuffy room, unable to open a window due to open access to anyone, guests or someone straight off the street. Anybody able to park right outside the room. It was more a motel than a hotel and I feel it should be advertised as such. Reception area is only that, no other facilities offered. No direct access to the restaurant or bar - thank heavens it wasn't pouring with rain.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Meals were good and reasonably priced.
Unfortunately the hotel is close to a busy road and if you are unlucky enough to be a light sleeper the traffic noise is quite disturbing, especially if you have the bedroom windows open.
The bar and restaurant. All the staff were polite and efficient.
The rooms were too warm, or too noisy if you had to air con on. The location was very noisy as well.
Extremely clean pleasent staff football in the bar
Only one real ale offered medium rare steak delivered well done
The Carriages bar and restaurant were excellent and the carvery and buffet breakfast made me choose this place. Both had lovely food and excellent service and friendly staff.
The rooms are completely separate and the one on the ground floor felt stuffy and looked in on from the car park. The noisy building work was right next door to our room. Didn't realise it was next to a dual carriageway, description made it sound like it was down a country lane. But it was easy to find. When I checked in no one seemed happy and 2 staff seemed to be arguing as I tried to listen to the 3rd. Room clean and tidy though.
Friendly staff good value for money good size bedrooms great breakfast
Everything was really good
Nothing to dislike
