Staff were really friendly, price of the room was excellent, food was lovely, drinks not too expensive, outdoor courtyard was peaceful, picturesque walk by the river.
Double bed was two singles pushed together, cobwebs in the corner of room, weak shower.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Rooms could do with a bit of updating
Hotel, location, staff and food
the central heating was on at full and we were unable to turn it off as the radiator thermostat was broken.
Beautifully situated in delightful Teesside Village. Very friendly staff, excellent imaginative menu. Very comfortable and welcoming. Will certainly be returning.
Room size was good.
Wifi was intermittent. My room (8) was above the bar and front door so very noisy.
The Devenport hotel to us seems intrinsically motivated to giving you the best experience. Friendly owner and staff, superb (local) food (bar and breakfast). Highly recommended!

View and food
The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was larger than expected and very clean. Lovely setting/location.
It would have been great to have a complimentary bottle of drinking water in the rooms alongside the tea and coffee.
location, staff and the ambiance
The lady was very kind and did our washing for us on arrival after a week spent camping - we were very grateful for this. When the lock broke on our bedroom door the staff were very helpful and moved us to another room. The food in the bar also was excellent. Thank you for your hospitality.
We were well looked after by the staff and the hotel itself was very pleasant, clean and comfortable.

Quiet and comfortable. Excellent breakfasts
A lovely small hotel and restaurant/bar. Very rural setting and quiet. Room was very spacious as was the bath. Comfortable seating. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice breakfast. Great food in the restaurant.
A little far from major highways (10-15 minutes) but well worth a little inconvenience.
I have stayed at the Devonport on a number of business trips and have always been pleased with the experience. Whenever I need a hotel in Darlington I automatically choose this one....is there anything else to say!
Staff friendly Good breakfast
Very hot and the room had only one window that opened about six inches.
Location, hotel facilities
Location quiet but good. Rooms big, clean, bed very comfy. Food very good, service good. All staff very good, friendly & helpful.
Food was fantastic and excellent value for money. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are lovely and spacious and very clean. Beds very comfortable.
We stayed here for a 1 night so over on our way up to Scotland. The room was clean and of a really decent size. We had a meal in the bar which was delicious. Best burger my husband had ever had apparently but still good value for money. Best of all they allow dogs and my puppy was very happy with the room.
My only negative, and it's not even really a complaint, was the WiFi was very poor. Wasn't strong enough to load anything in the bedroom and couldn't even connect in the bar.
