The Devonport Hotel  

Friendly and polite service, food although small menu was good and hot.

Found breakfast a bit disorganised, also one morning no fresh fruit due to running out the day before.

The setting was lovely, the hotel has a popular pub and the staff were friendly.

The remote control for the television wasn't working and I am not good with them, a lady working in the hotel tried to fix it but was unable. Also, the hairdryer in the room was on the opposite side of the room to the mirror. Lovely hotel though.

the staff are so helpful they would give you the shirt from their backs and in this instance they did (thank you thank you).the food was superb we loved staying here.

The radiator in my room(15) did not work and the temperature in the room was zero degrees.

Very Friendly staff, good pub grub, with a comforting friendly bar/ restaurant to relax in. My room, was clean, with a comfortable bed.

My room was a bit compact. The stairs up to the bedrooms, may be hard to negoiate for the lesser able.

The breakfast served in small plates very creasy and oily burnt eggs it looked very unhealthy and the oil used to cook breakfast may be of poor quality or chef dont change that often

Loved the hotel and the staff were very friendly. Being on my own, and being female, the dining area and bar had an inviting atmospere and I felt relaxed.Food good!

First class with a great room and bar area. The food was very good and reasonable.

Excellent way they resolved an issue over water/heating - couldn't have been more helpful even though it wasn't their fault. The weather had created the challenge!

We found it very cold and hot water only luke warm. We learned the next morning that the boiler wasn't working correctly. Only one spare blanket available in room.

Comfortable room and bed. Nice bar with friendly staff, real ale, good food, plus free internet.

No staff at reception. This minor issue could be easily rectified with a sign redirecting visitors to the bar.

The food in the evening was good but had to wait 10 minutes later than my colleague for it to be delivered even though we ordered at the same time and were sitting at the same table.

No hot water in the evening or the morning, rooms were cold and we were staying in the middle of winter, waited nearly 40 minutes for breakfast as there was only one waitress working who was also, I think, doing the cooking, poor lass then had to deal with all the complaints as was informed the manager and his wife / girlfriend etc were still in bed, the waitress should get a pay rise for keeping calm and keeping this business afloat!

Heating was turned off at night, and the room was freezing.

Pleasant hotel with excellent staff. The rooms are basic but what you get is what you pay for.

The shower were very poor and needs upgrading as soon as possible

We had a comfortable, good sized room, and the breakfast was excellent.

The bar and eating area were very good and the steak and wine del was the best we have had, 2 8oz ribeye steaks and a bottle of wine for £25.00 Presentation was excellent

Location is very quiet but that can be a plus too.
