The hotel was very clean, and room spacious. The breakfast was excellent with very good choices of everything, and the food was very hot which is important to me. The evening meal was aprox £25 for three courses, and if visiting the theatre would be able to serve at an earlier time. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant, the menu was good and the choices varied. The hotel was quiet and near theatres, and several restaurants in a nearby road. It was also near enough to the town to walk and only a short walk to the beach/pier.We chose the hotel for a number of reasons, mainly for the good feedback, and we were not dissapointed. There were two lovely lounges one with the bar. DVD's and games were also available. Only very small things - We stayed in a twin room no 21. The bedside lights were not very bright and masked by a shade so it was difficult to read by. The ceiling light needed a new bulb but that was all really.

The hotel bar and lounge are lovely. It is very clean and the breakfast is excellent. The hotel generally appears to be very well run. Rooms are tired and dated. Reception staff tend to be overly formal.

The staff are excellent and clearly go out of their way to assist. The room was well equipped and clean. The atmosphere in the dining room was lacking, which is a pity as the food was excellent.

The Devonshire Park Hotel was all we could have hoped for and the location for theatre goers was excellent, right opposite the Congress Theatre which was one of our reasons for choosing it.We would thoroughly recommend it to anyone requiring a really first class hotel.

Very comfortable: relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. The food in the restaurant was excellent. One small point; could have done with a better Reading light in the room

We were attending a Christian Music conference at the Congress Theatre, so it was very close. We stayed at the Hotel last year and we liked the Hotel so we decided to go back again. We had a good freshly cooked English breakfast each morning, the rooms were clean and there was a bar lounge that we could relax in as a group, as well as order some drinks and sandwiches (which were good). Staff were very friendly and helpful. A minor point - the shower, using the bath taps was difficult to regulate.

From the very moment I walked in the door the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. This was the case throughout my stay and I therefore highly recommend the hotel. Also it has a very good location - opoosite the Towner Art Gallery, two minutes from the beach and a short walk into the town Centre. The breakfast was superb - I had a full English which was cooked to perfection. Overall - highly recommended. I can't wait to come back...

The breakfast was good, and the room was large and comfortable. The room should have been checked more thoroughly ie one lampshade was broken slightly and the loo roll holder was also a bit broken.

We enjoyed the position of the hotel near the art centre, theatre, heritage centre and within walking distance of the town. A good business hotel or base for city break. We stayed in the Wilmington Suite; more expensive than a standard double room. We are writing directly to the hotel as we felt minor but important details, for example lack of separate shampoo and conditioner, towelling robes, slippers, did not match the cost of the facilities - "triple" bed in large bedroom with ensuite reception area, bathroom with separate shower and bath and wall televisions in bedroom and reception area. We found parking limited and decided to park in a nearby road rather than leave our car keys in reception and double park in the hotel car park.

The hotel was ideal as I needed a place which had on-site parking and level access from the car park as I was with a very elderly relative, who also needed lift access to all floors. The location was also good, just a short walk from the seafront and an easy drive to places of interest. The atmosphere was quiet and friendly and the staff very helpful and wanting to please. Both our rooms were comfortable and clean and the dining room and lounge were very pleasant. I would definitely bring my aunt here again as she felt very much at home; she is in her late eighties, getting frail and is also shy so it's wonderful to find a suitable hotel for her.

Comfortable beds. Very good TV which enabled us to watch Wimbledon in comfort each evening. Nice comfortable armchairs in the bedroom. Excellent breakfasts, but I was surprised that when I ordered a kipper in advance for one morning, a "fresh" kipper didn't arrive. Two "boil in a bag" type kippers appeared. They were OK but not like the real thing. Bedside lights so dim it was impossible to read in bed (7 watt low energy bulbs!). The management changed the bulbs which improved things to some extent. The shower was unpredictable....too hot one minute and too cold the next.

The staff were continously focused and had a pride in everything they did. Parking was excellent and the decor, and level of furnitures without a doubt this hotel should be graded up from their current star rating. Choice of breakfast, quality and freshness was excellent and the dining lounge was prepared with perfect eye for detail in everything, right to getting your newspaper on your breakfast table prior to reaching it. Though this hotel is smaller to some of the bigger hotels in Eastbourne, since I have stayed in ten different hotels in Eastbourne, this hotel comes in the same bracket with the top two hotels in the area without a doubt..
