Our room was lovely and spacious. Our evening meal was very good and breakfast was hot ( a plus in my book ) The staff were helpful.
I would have liked to have seen more xmas decorations and maybe some quiet background music in the dining room for atmosphere.
Staff, room, lovely bathroom ,WiFi in room, food was great ,hotel looked very smart ,lots of little things really , I was very impressed
The only thing I didn't like was I couldn't open the window before I went to bed as I like to have some fresh air but I couldn't get it open to save my life
free parking. opposite theatre and art gallery. friendly staff. nice dining room and outlook. nice and clean with 3 lounges should you wish to use them.certainly will use again.
nothing not to like.
Age and style of building meant big room, separate shower and bath was a big bonus. Breakfast was good. I could open the window in my bedroom, I could adjust the heating myself. Shower worked well. Liked the tea and coffee making facilities and especially a bottle of mineral water replenished daily - an inexpensive touch that makes all the difference. Great location opposite the Devonshire Park theatre/conference complex.
Can't think of anything!
Bed was very comfortable, location was great, good selection of Breakfast options.
When I arrived I wasn't told what time Breakfast was, or what time I needed to check out of the room. I forgot to ask when I checked in but feel this should have been told to me (or at least something in the room with these details on).
Very accomodating manager and good facillities and location
Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff courteous and food delicious.
Free parking as Eastbourne seems to be very popular even in the winter months. Breakfast was very good and evening meals reasonably priced.
Cleaning staff trying to get into the room at 8.45am before we had even checked out.
The staff were efficient and friendly. Breakfast was really good.
Radiator in bedroom didn't work, ended up with an electric fire. Thought £160 inc. of breakfast over the top, especially as this was supposed to be a best price. Hotel felt lifeless.
This hotel deserves a 5 stars rating, honest! Everything was just perfect. Friendly and helpful staff, very nice, comfy and quiet room, speedy internet, very clean bathroom, very good breakfast -and large choice on the menu- with great and tasty local food. And all that for a more than reasonable price. I'm a very bad sleeper so I can't sleep when there's noise and usually I barely can get some rest when I'm in an hotel. But my room was so silent that I've been able to have a very decent night of sleep. Exceptional, really! Highly recommended!
Hotel and staff are five star. Polite courteous and helpfull.
staff friendliness excellent breakfast
Very friendly and helpful environment. Clean and tidy. We stayed in the Garden Suite, so had access to a courtyard garden. Very quiet. Lots of space in the suite.
Obviously recent update of facilities which is good. However, some finishing touches need to be undertaken. Minor compared with the benefits.
Friendly welcome. Clean and well resourced bathroom. Comfy bed.
Breakfast Our coffee came before our meal and was only warm so by the time we had eaten it was cold. The food seemed as if it had been warmed through rather than freshly cooked and the toast was barely cooked so more like dry bread!
It was a lot better than I expected , very clean the staff friendly ,breakfast was lovely .
Friendly welcome and fast check-in. All of the staff are efficient and clearly motivated. The entire hotel is clean and the food of the highest quality.
Lovely room good breakfast nice staff
Very clean room. Very Comfortable bed. Nice modern bathroom. Efficient and friendly service by reception and breakfast room staff. Beautifully kept interior and exterior. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Everything about the hotel. Attention to detail was excellent Breakfast selection was amazing although I feel that I did not do it justice as I am a tea/coffee and toast person usually. Proximity to the congress theatre Wonderful concert by lpo (left me near to tears)
I kept losing my way back to my room but that was my fault! (Room 16)
Lovely room nice staff good breakfast
Car park Good sized room Light and modernised en-suite bathroom with shower Excellent breakfasts Comfortable bed
B&B rate Heavy old doors Dark furniture Dated carpets
Breakfast is one of the best I've had in a hotel. The second time we have stayed there and upgraded to a suite on both occasions. Hotel has a early booking time. Arrived early on both occasions and room was ready.
Evening menu was a bit limited.
Comfortable room overlooking gardens, good ensuite bathroom with bath and shower, good choice for breakfast. Short walk to seafront.
We liked the location of the hotel which was only 4 minutes walk away from the sea front. Plus it was only 10 minutes walk to the shopping centre and places to eat. From the shopping centre you can board the number 12A bus that takes you into Brighton if you fancy a day trip into another seaside town and not have to worry about parking the car. The journey takes an hour but has lovely views. The hotel itself was clean and very comfortable. The staff were helpful and polite. Breakfasts were delicious and enough to set you up for the day. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it.
We stayed in one of the suites which was a very good size for the two of us...but a small fridge in the seating area would have been great and handy. The hot water seemed to run out half way through the shower...which we reported. Apart from that nothing else to grumble about :)
