Very central location and comfortable rooms.
Dinner menu hot really suitable for children so ate elesewhere.
The location. The breakfast. Jacuzzi.
The size of the room. Very limited storage space for clothes.
Lovely stay at the dial house. Food was excellent as was the service.
Service Food Location Room just renovated
Everything seem ok for me
location very central, staff friendly and obliging,
Unfortunately the superior room was a bit tired. I felt that there were too many youngsters working and no one of mature statue, air of experience and professionalism. The five course evening meal looked and tasted good but if you have a normal sized appetite you'll be left hungry! We stayed for two nights and so chose to eat else where on the second night. Full English breakfast disappointing, eggs over cooked on both mornings and black pudding came more as a shaving! I feel the current owner/manager has taken their eye off the ball!!!!
The old building, the atmosphere, the great grilled well presented breakfasts, the location of the hotel
Very quiet and peaceful location with some fab shopping and places to see in the area. Hotel rate was acceptable for the area and time of year. Breakfast was lovely and ample choices. Food fresh and tasty
We ended up paying over £300.00 for one night stay diner bed and breakfast. We were excited about the dinner which was discounted as we were residents so £10.00 off at 45.00 pp I had a large G & T to start and it cost £16.00!! The dinner was little morsels of what I can only describe as appetisers, but was actually the full meal. There was little atmosphere. I would possibly stay here and eat elsewhere and have the breakfast. There is a hot tub, but our room was through the car park and i didn't fancy crossing over in full view in dressing gown and slippers. the staff although pleasant seemed depressed ! We gave an extra tip to two of the waiters and they looked like we had given them the plague, it was a fiver each which on top of the service charged anyway is not too bad!
The hotel is in a beautiful location which is exactly what we were looking for, for a Christmas break. Very friendly and helpful staff and excellent food.
We did find the hotel quite cold, the heating appeared to be turned off during the day and our room was quite cold as a result of this.
- Fantastic location - Courteous staff
- Not very clean - Stayed in the coach house - 4 poster bedroom. The bed was very soft which wasn't the best for me personally.
Everything about the Dial House was what we were hoping for. Our superior room was overlooking the river Windrush and has beautiful views of the open countryside. Our evening dinner experience was amazing, beautiful food along with friendly and professional service at all times.
Food. Accommodation. Service. Location. Atmosphere
Nothing really. I'm not keen on 4 posters but my wife likes them
The location was excellent right in the center of Bourton and meant that the car was not required again until we left. There was a warm welcome from the Owner with a choice of beverage and mince pie until our room was ready. The Dinner was very good and the staff friendly.
The waiting staff was very good but his understanding of English was not. The full english breakfast which I ordered was, I assumed, then cooked but when it arrived after a suitable delay, it was cremated. I didn't send it back because my partner's breakfast arrived at the same time, and it would have meant either his getting cold whilst mine was being recooked or eating mine when he had finished his breakfast.I was very surprised the Chef had sent it out in this obvious condition.,
Location was great right in the middle of Bourton- on - the- water breakfast very tasty friendly, helpful staff went above and beyond helping us when our car got damaged in car park.
The rooms decor was bazaar!!!! Didn't suit the hotel and not in keeping with the building.
Arriving on a chilly winter evening the hotel was warm and welcoming with room very well appointed. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the standard of the food was excellent. Will definitely be returning.
Not exactly a dislike but thought the standard of house keeping wasn't all it could be. Our bathroom was spotless but the bedroom was very dusty in places and there were quite a few very large cobwebs. This didn't detract from our stay at all but was just rather surprising
We liked the location.
Freezing shoebox size rooms and very noisy room 8 by the hot tub, switching off and on all night. the whole hotel was cold, very inadequate heating for the winter. poorly staffed. bar and coffee area never had anyone serving.
Dinner and breakfast were absolutely excellent, best dinner we have had for some years; quality over quantity wins hands down.
Lack of shower facility over the bath. Bathroom cleaning could have been a little more thorough e.g. tiled walls had vapour stains as did the waste bin; Small but little details count
Very comfortable hotel. Fine dining meals were an added bonus and interesting to sample. We had the same dinner menu choices two nights running so I was unsure as to how often they changed their menus.
Although our bath had a shower attachment, there was no curtain to be able to use it as a conventional shower.
Everything was excellent
Nothing at all
The food was superb and beyond our expectations - some of the best food we have had for a long time. We had a lovely evening with our friends and an excellent meal. The staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful.
The bar area is quite restricted and the seating areas/layout for parties therefore quite cramped. I do recognise the constraints such a beautiful historic property presents. The bedroom smelt of damp and the decor was a little "tired".
ground floor room 6 a bit small /short on space and lacked a table mounted mirror for hair / makeup
Town and the main hotel building were beautiful.
We were staying in the converted coach house which was extremely noisy - we could hear everything in the room above/ beside. Staff weren't helpful when it came to advising in where to eat.
Where it was
Breakfast was poor value with little choice and nothing more than hundreds of other more reasonably priced hotels and B&B's would offer. Staff were not welcoming and at no time were we made to feel special.
Second time we have stayed and will not be the last location is fantastic nothing is to much trouble staff go out of there way to cater for your needs well worth a visit thank you for a relaxing break.
Having to leave!
Food was excellent
Room was expensive for what it was
