The Dickleburgh Crown

Staff very pleasant, food good and accommmodation perfect.

Good quality accommodation and friendly staff. We used it as a base for a cycling weekend good connections to the coast.

Diss is the nearest town but wouldn't say it is particularly worth a special visit.

The staff were very welcoming and the room was spotless; we stayed in The Rose. Breakfast was also very nice.

Large room with good facilities.

Lovely warm room in the depths of winter with snow. Loved the separate room for chairs, TV etc. Good facilities and very welcoming staff at the pub. Food was good and loved the real ales. Very quiet at the back in the converted stables.

Surprised to get a suite - the comfort level was very good. Being 'detached', there was little intrusive noise, or little chance of you affecting anyone else with TV noise etc. Also plenty of space. Hosts always happy to help. Good parking. Furniture and walls very clean and good condition.

Aspects of the suite (old beams) hadn't been cleaned for a very long time, and were thick with dust and cobwebs. Being over the bedroom area made it worse. Bathroom would stand a overhaul. Shower/bath taps operation very dodgy. Paint work peeling/getting badly marked. Not a single glass in the building, not even for brushing teeth. Winter heating going off for too long during the day.

The owners/managers were very friendly, helpful and polite. We were made to fel very welcome. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, with large double beds. Breakfast was very good - hearty and delicious, and good value.

Friendly welcome and, although they had stopped serving food by 8 o'clock on a Saturday evening (be warned!), they kindly heated up some scampi and chips out of the freezer. The guest book was quite a good read but made me feel that some people are very easily pleased!

One of the towels in the bathroom was stained and the checkout time (10 am) seemed unreasonably early. They did, however, allow us to stay an extra 15 minutes without charge.

Very spacious and clean' staff very friendly handy for visiting family who live at Diss.breakfast cost extra which is a first of all the places we have stayed.

The staff were brilliant, accommodation was very good, clean and comfortable, food was very, very good with very generous helpings. I will recommend the Crown to everyone I know living and travelling in the area. In particular the bar atmoshphere was very freindly with the landlord and his wife most obliging. I have stayed in more expensive accommodation with less pleasure and comfort. The Crown is an excellent place to stayu, wish I could have stayed longer.

The suite was a beautiful and very good value for money. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The food served in the pub was also very good indeed. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

We stayed at this inn on route to a wedding and the staff were very welcoming, despite our extremely late arrival (10pm). The room was big and very clean and comfortable and we were given fresh milk for our tea/coffee in our room which was nice. The pub itself was small and just as you'd expect from a village - we had a nice quiet drink and played pool. Just what we needed after a 3 hour drive. After a good night's sleep the breakfast was great - full english with orange juice and coffee. This inn was just right for us.

I enjoyed my stay very much , but if did have to make a slight comment, it would be that if i book with a price for B&B then i would not expect to then pay extra for breakfasts, which is what i did.

We were given a warm welcome and were well looked after. The accomodation was very clean and comfortable.

Not much to do in the village, you needed to drive out.

Unlike another reviewer I thought it was interesting to see an Arachnid friendly room. Especially since the 4 webs in the bathroom and the 2 in the bedroom all contained species of spider that are not seen where I live. It would be a shame if they obtained a duster. What do you mean, you don't like spiders?

Dickleburgh is a grubby little village and the pub fits nicely. Don't arrive before 5pm or you will find the doors locked - despite what booking.com told you.

when we got there we could not book in until 4-30 whitch seemed a bit late, and was told no food in the bar as it was the landlords night off but he did say he could russle up a snack if we wanted it by 6-30.so we declined.he then said breakfast was between 8-00 and 9-00 and asked what time as it would be served up complete at our time of asking i said i might not want a full breakfast, he said it was not too big and that is what you get. so we declined this as well .the room (suite) called roses had damp in the bathroom,the drain smelt and a lot of cob webs arround the bedroom. sorry not too good.
