With a great location in the heart of Belgravia, one of London’s most exclusive areas, this beautiful, historic Victorian building offers free Wi-Fi and comfortable rooms with private bathrooms. A beautifully preserved, Grade II historical register listed building, the Diplomat Hotel has a convenient location, in a quiet residential area, just a 5 minute walk from Belgrave Square, home of many of the capital’s embassies. All that London has to offer is within easy reach and the hotel’s great location means it offers good access to London’s public transportation networks. London Victoria Station is less than half a mile away and Sloane Square and Knightsbridge London Underground subway stations are even closer. Harrods, Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace are all within easy walking distance. With 26 rooms, the hotel offers friendly, personal service. All rooms have telephones, TVs, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers and bathroom accessories. A full English and continental buffet-style breakfast is included in the price. The elegant old-fashioned style makes the atmosphere very british. Belgravia is the fairest residential place of the world and every amusement location of London is very easily reachable from the hotel position. The hotel staff is kindly disposable and polyglot. The room where we stayed (The Berkeley) is splendid. Breakfast is rich.

I really liked my room. I had booked a single and it was more than enough. It was also nice and quiet and the staff made a big effort to make me feel welcome. They even put chocolates into my room and sometimes its the little touches that make the difference. The staff were friendly and the quality of the room considering the price was very good. They had every channel I could want on TV too. It was just a little further away from my office than I expected but the walk was a pleasant one so it didn't really bother me too much. I had stayed in another hotel closer to the office two weeks earlier and the quality wasn't even close.

The staff was wonderful and so very eager to please. The location is very convenient for this part of London, too. I'll definitely want to stay at the Diplomat when I return to London and can look forward to being welcomed by the same friendly people and an excellent breakfast spread in the hotel's cozy dining room.

Great location, nice enough small hotel for short visit. Not too over-priced. I have no comments to make as I believe I got what I asked for

Friendly, helpful staff; well-appointed room with hair-dryer, trouser- press, tv and even complimentary box of chocolates, and excellent breakfast. They even looked after my bag for me next day, and gave me coffee and biscuits when I returned to collect it. All most welcome.

The staff and management were superb. Very helpful and welcoming in every way. Rooms were warm and very comfortable. My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay at The Diplomat, and we all will have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to our friends and colleagues. We hope to see you all again very soon.

Location Room cold and damp. Wallpaper coming of wall. Very small bathroom. No drinking water in room. Drinking water dispensers in lobbies empty. Asked reception to call taxi. Ended up with a limousine that cost £30.00 for a £5.00 black cab fare!

The stuff was very friendly. The hotel serves great breakfast, unfortunately starting at 8.30 a.m. only on weekends. You can find teapot and bisquits + tea/coffee in the room for no extra-charge. The hotel manager leaves personal message with chocolates on arrival. I found it very nice and kind. In general the service is good, reception is always keen to help. The lift is very authenic:) with manually closing doors. If you forgot to close the doors after exiting, it starts beeping. The room ( single) was tiny (though it is very common in UK), everything is very old ( bathroom was ok, renovated). But to stay in the hotel is very interesting for those who wants to find something very special about the country and architecture.

The buffet style full English breakfast was excellent and a lot better than I've experienced in much more expensive London hotels. Good location in a quiet area and close to the underground. My single room was a bit on the small side but I guess this is to be expected in London!

The location close to 2 different subway lines. Breakfast included. Wi-Fi included. The price. I understand that the price of the hotels are high but as a tourist, I would probably not stay at this hotel for 200 pounds a night and look for a cheaper alternative.

Very resonably priced, quiet central London location, walking distance to Knightsbridge and Harrods, in a quiet street with low traffic noice, excellent cooked breakfast in a bright, compact breakfast room. Staff were very friendly, and nice clean batchroom with lots of hot water. I would definitely visit again for private use (this was a business trip) as the location is superb. The only very small negative is that the tap water is marked as not drinking water, and so perhaps a small bottle of drinking water could be left in each room.

Clean tidy hotel, with friendly staff and excellent location. Excellent cooked breakfast was a bonus. Would stay again and would happily recommend. Breakfast should start 1/2 hour earlier, especially at weekends.

The location was excellent and very quiet. We were able to walk to Harrods and in the evening it was a pleasent walk to The Apollo Victoria Theatre. The breakfast in the morning was first class in a small but well run breakfast room. The only thing I can think of that some of the decoration was a little "tired"

The english breakfast was pretty good and the Italian manager was affable Firstly they had not transferred my online booking to their booking system so they had not reserved a room for me. The manager was apologetic and kind and helpful. I had the choice between a room I couldn't swing a cat in and a large room in the basement which was cold, damp and had a ripped sheet (not being able to sleep in the latter I switched to the former at 11pm which they happily allowed me to do). In general the decor was dated and the conversion in the basement (that I contemplated for 2 hours whilst shivering under my ripped sheet) was odd.

“Excellent location, a short walk from Victoria with the feel of a private home rather than a hotel. I had to check in late after midnight and although the hotel charges an extra £10.00 per hour for check in after 11.00pm it was worth it for the convenience of being able to go straight to my event. Although the double room was small even by london standards, it was very well appointed with a lovely marble bathroom.” Maria, Dorking |
