Quality cotton bedding. Very helpful staff. Best steak i have every tasted. I asked for a quiet room and got a very quiet room.Very tasty breakfast.Excellent value for the money.
The location was ideal for us.
We had breakfast and evening meal here - both which were of a poor standard. We had phoned through as one of the party has special dietary requirements - on arrival nothing had been done after being told this would not be a problem! Restaurant staff do not seem confident or interested in their work? Very disorganised at check out - we settled our account the previous night as finding staff of a morning proved somewhat difficult.
Adjoining rooms for our children was excellent. Very spacious. Nice room. Excellent breakfast
Bar downstairs a bit in need of revamp
Tiny room only just space to get down each side of the bed. No wardrobe only three coat hooks on the wall. Tiniest shower room with broken light.
The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was first class.
bit of a problem finding the car park
Good Parking, Spotless Room and Excellent Food.
Bar area a bit tired.
Noisy pub (rooms linked behind)
Comfy but basic rooms. Really friendly and helpful staff. Would stay there again.
I like the hotel from outside, the shower . It is economic. People that work there are freindly
The room is small There was a sound outside the window.
Clean & Comfortable, ideal for our short stay. (1 Night )
Prefer to have had our evening meal in the stable bar. The café/bistro was cold & lacked atmosphere.
The breakfast and evening meal were excellent
Loved the shower and it was the best English Breakfast we have had in a long time. The bed was comfy and although there were no side windows, the velux window let in plenty of air and saved us from any street noise.
If it had rained, the velux window would have been a big negative! Not sure how loud it would have been if there had been entertainment on that night, we were lucky as there was none. The car park is not easy to find.
Friendly staff Food in Bistro and breakfast in the Stables bar was very good. Clean linen and shower room.
The carpets throughout we're absolutely filthy and the hotel was desperately in need of re-decoration. The room was very basic with an old dust ridden light shade in the centre of it. On arrival the window had been left open to air the room. Unfortunately we were above the smokers courtyard so it just smelled of stale smoke. The mattress was uncomfortable and the pillows were two very flat man made fibre filled slabs. Not stayed in a hotel or B&B of this calibre since the 70s'.
Food was hot, so were the plates
Was no problem park the car in this little village on our way to Stone Hendge. Staff also changed TV-channel so we could watch golf in the pub. A good quiet B&B for the prize
Rooms were very clean and presentable. Beds comfortable.
Pub was a bit too lively. Fine if you're a bloke staying over on a work trip but not so approachable for a family.
The furnishings and the room and en suite were all nice
The menu for the evening meal. The noise from the youngsters using the bar and the outside seating being under the room window. Also the fan running all night for the cellar.
Location is good for access to Wincanton and the surrounding area.
Room was fairly small and was lacking a wardrobe although there were clothes hooks available.
Excellent value for money, good breakfast, room clean and tidy.
Lack of wardobe in room and carpets could do with being changed
Very clean of comfortable room, and good breakfast. Ideal for couple of nights when visiting family who live locally. Will certainly use the Dolphin in the future
Large room. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.
Only good part was a good English breakfast
Had to leave car on high street as car park was full due to a wedding reception. Had to use the Bistro/Cafe' for evening dinner as the wedding had taken over the Pub and Restaurant. No wine list available at dinner and the waitress did not know the prices.Children were running around in the bar and nowhere to sit We were kept awake because wedding reception went on until 1-00am and it was very noisy outside of our bedroom window Only co-co pops available for starter at breakfast
location for our purpose
our rooms had no wardrobe storage for clothing, just a coat hanger on a coat hook.
The location was very good and there was ample free parking. The WiFi worked well and the breakfasts were very good indeed. The towels were very large and very soft and you had the option of fresh towels daily if you wanted them. Overall it was very good value for money.
The hard bed! Why do hotels think everyone wants to sleep on a board? Our room was over the side door of the hotel and it was very noisy. Friday morning we were woken at 6am with large bins being moved around and on Friday night the customers were shouting and laughing under our window until after midnight. Also when we returned from a day out our room door was not locked and although nothing was stolen we didn't notice until Saturday morning that we had no cups in the room and there was nowhere to get any. I suspect the cleaner meant to go back into the room but forgot.
very noisy as there was a wedding reception.loud music until midnight & talking & laughing until 1am.We should have been advised of this.
