No wardrobe in room.
Room clean and spacious, bed comfortable,Facilities excellent, Breakfast Great overall a excellent short break
Our second time here. Lovely and warm on a cold day. Friendly welcome. Walking distance of racecourse. Plenty parking. Good cooked-to-order breakfast included in price.
Location and food were good
Not a very comfortable bar lounge area
Very friendly would stay again
Located centrally in Wincanton. The room i stayed in was at the back of the hotel was quiet & spotlessly clean.Free car parking at back of hotel.
Not enough space for a wardrobe in room(not a problem for me as only staying overnight). Some coat hooks in room but no coat hangers supplied. Breakfast was basic & barely adequate.
Excellent service ~ enjoyed an overnight stay on Boxing Day. Great atmosphere. Restaurant served good food at reasonable price. would stay again when at Wincanton Races. Thankyou.
Bistro closed Sunday Evening so had to eat out 5mins walk down road
The room was outdated with no hanging space for clothes the mattress was the cheapest you could imagine, The noise from the bar below was intolerable and the food in the evening had to be sent back as it was dry and over cooked All in all the worst place we have ever stayed
Good friendly staff. Accommodated a room change due to a paint smell without issue, nicer room too. Good bar. Good parking. Cheap for a Saturday night with breakfast, wifi, tv etc
Food - average at best. Noise, punters shouting at the pub entrance and beer garden until 1am, drunk guests shouting in the stairs until 3am - zero noise control. Quite dirty, stained duvet.
Helpfulness of staff and location (halfway down A303)
Bad lighting in room (unable to read at night) and lack of ability to hang clothes.
Location (in High St) and parking.
Inadequate lighting (only one bedside light) and central light not very good either. Inability to hang clothes overnight.
The hotel was in a convenient location for our trip.
The cooked breakfast was very tasty but the hotel had run out of cereal and chose not to buy any in the nearby supermarket for that morning.
Car parking awkward to locate
It was close to where I wanted to be.
Traditional coaching inn with yard. Great breakfast Good steak on steak night (Wednesday)
Food on another night very ordinary
no wardrobe to hang clothes no soap or shower products .just a bare room with two beds . You couldnt call it a hotel ,there was no dinning room you had to have breakfast across the road in a hut.It was noisy with drunk workmen bashing about at night .It was nothing like the discription.
Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and well cooked. Staff were very friendly.
We stayed with our family and had two rooms, our room was very small with noisy plumbing and leaky shower and our children's room overlooked the courtyard and was very noisy until midnight. Carpets and fixtures were dirty. Smokers standing at entrance to rooms
The food was excellent, both evening meal and breakfast. Good sized free car park at rear of hotel. Location is good for the centre of Wincanton. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for money.
Some small details of room cleanliness, but overall fair. WiFi signal was a bit hit and miss in the bedroom, but fine in the downstairs areas.
rather shabby, bedding was good but furniture rather stained and bathroom suite old.
The food in the bistro was good
Dirty windows hairs in the shower dusty shelf
Staff were fantastic. Clean room and a good breakfast.
To be honest. Not a good idea to empty the bins at 6am in the morning along cobbled stones. Apart from that, very good value.
Have stayed here before and like the spacious rooms and newly refurbished en suite facilities. Beds are good quality too and breakfast is first class. Plenty of safe parking as well.
On both occasions that I have stayed at this hotel I have wanted to eat in but the menu just misses the mark for me. Sorry I can't be more help to the owners on this, I think it is perhaps a matter of personal taste.
Good restaurant and breakfast. Good value for money
Stairs a bit tight.
