Score from 101 reviews Very good
The staff were friendly and helpful.food though expensive was cooked to a high quality
The menu was a little sparce and a little over priced
The room was very well furnished and equipped and met expectations for an Executive room.
Hotel missing a decent guest lounge and bar area is more like the local pub. For an Executive room the view was not the best available for this standard and this is not the first time this has happened to us when getting a reduced rate through Booking.com.
Staff Amazing comfy bed Location
Beautiful room , beautiful food , fantastic breakfast, friendly staff
Comfortable accommodation, good food and friendly service. Good location in Brodick.
An all round good hotel with an excellent staff, good food and friendly owner.
It was handy straight from the ferry & the hotel is beautifully decorated & comfortable.A relaxful atmosphere.
A really fire burning would have made it!
Super stay at this very well appointed and decorated hotel . All the charm of a British hotel without skipping the luxury . We loved the restaurant and regretted going elsewhere for lunch. Kids were well catered for and enjoyed the views of the harbour.
Superbly located with absolutely everything you could ask for when you want to escape and be cared for over a cold wet December weekend. Superbly comfortable, great food, friendly caring staff. Will be returning in the Spring.
Wi-Fi was initially a bit flakey, soon sorted out by receptionist
what's not to like? we loved everything about the hotel and will definitely be back
Excellent location of room 202.
Having to remind staff about bottle of prosecco
Room, location and staff
No heating or hot water for 24hrs during our stay, whilst we appreciated this wasn't directly the fault of the hotel it did have an impact on our stay
Courteous and genuine staff... lovely food and a great atmosphere. Terrific rooms almost all individually laid out...
Showers need to be more powerful!
Location of hotel was perfect with magical views of Brodick bay. Food at hotel was good with a varied menu.
Rooms were below required temperature. Staff unable to resolve matter. We were told that rooms had been empty for a period that is why they were cold . I think this is a poor excuse , as comfort of guests throughout stay should be a priority.
The hotel is in a great location overlooking the sea & has views across to Goatfell (the highest peak on Arran). The hotel itself is lovely and finished to a high standard. The bar has a nautical feel with a number of beautiful old framed maps on the walls.
The food wasn't great. We had breakfast there and also ate in the Bistro / restaurtant on 2 evenings. The cooked breakfasts were average at best - not very hot (however the continental breakfast buffet was very nice). The food in the Bistro was good without being great.
Room (very nice bathroom, plenty of towels, dressing gown, tea, coffee, biscuits, iron, hairdryer, big TV, very quiet at night), public spaces (well heated), restaurant (very comfortable chairs), bar (cheerful venue, lovely view).
Room was cold on arrival, which meant that bed was as well. Maybe the room could be heated a little longer before arrival (after all, we are southern softies). Room did heat up during stay, but one small radiator for such a big room is probably insufficient,
Very friendly staff and superb bedroom.
Can't think of anything.
recently modernized so every thing is clean and works properly. staff are friendly and obliging. location at pier head is convenient for the ferry with lovely views
no ceiling light in entrance way to room making wardrobe hard to see into.
Staff and location
Helpful friendly welcoming reception staff. Bar staff efficient and helpful not over attentive or patronising. Breakfast staff attentive welcoming pleasant and polite.
Nothing leave it as is.
Just returned from a one night stay and cannot fault the Douglas Hotel, it was perfect
Lovely little bar. Really comfy bed.
Could not find one fault with the hotel. Room was lovely with lots of lovely touches. Staff were really nice and very helpful. Food was fantastic. Really great hotel and great location.
Could not find one fault.
Usual friendly staff at check in. Lovely room. Tasty shortbread.
Lack of pastries in continental breakfast selection.
Everything but disappointed at view of blank wall.
