Excellent full English breakfast - well cooked, tasty and extremely good service.
Staff were lovely. Food was lovely. Room as clean, spacious and comfortable with a quality bed. Excellent breakfast. Ticked all the boxes for me . Would recommend to anyone. The carvery for £8.50 is something else.
Nothing negative to report to others considering staying here.
Friendly staff Inn was very pleasant and spacious Lovely food with a good choice Large clean room Comfortable bed Quiet at night Lovely surroundings
Inn was a bit out of the way and you need a car to get about as there is nothing to do especially of an evening. The lanes are very dark so not suitable for a stroll after dinner now the nights are drawing in
All staff were very friendly and were happy to help with any problems. Bedroom was a good size with a disabled ensuite. Breakfast was very good. There was a good choice on the evening menu including the carvery. Also there was a very large car park.
Excellent food and lovely welcoming ambience - nothing too much trouble for the friendly staff. Good views from our rooms.
Friendly woman served great breakfast. Room was very pleasant and comfortable with tasteful lighting and decoration and a fair size. Modern en-suite bathroom. Good parking. Lovely views.
Road right next to room, traffic noisy but not much traffic at night so okay. Probably okay with window shut.
it was just what we were looking for to accommodate our friends to celebrate my birthday, 5 very comfortable bedrooms plus the fantastic carvery and breakfast
Very friendly staff
The location is excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Carvery & breakfasts excellent. Would recommend.
From arrival to departure, we were made very welcome. We stayed for 5nights and couldn't fault it. The cavery is probably the best we have ever had. As for the breakfast, that was to die for. The location is excellent for travelling around that part of Shropshire. The staff are a credit to the place. Definitely stay there again. 10 out of 10. Recommend it to all.
Bank Holday Monday weather, it rained all day.
We have just spent three nights at The Down Inn. The staff were so friendly. Their full English breakfast was served very hot and very tasty. The Carvery was the best we have had. The service was excellent. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and very clean. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay special. Thank you.
The only negative I can think of is the view onto the car park from room 4. This would be improved with the addition of blinds. There is a good view from the second window in this room. We got a great deal on our stay and would stay here again as the positives far outweigh the negative.
Friendly Welcome, Clean room, Lovely Meal
My Breakfast was spoiled by the fresh fruit tasting as if it had been out a day or two, my wife's cooked breakfast was fine - minor quibble, would still stay here again.
The staff were so friendly, very helpfull, the room was clean and very comfy.
There was nothing to complain about
Everything! We received a warm welcome and were given a lovely double room with plenty of space, plus a walk in wardrobe and excellent bathroom. The breakfast was cooked to order and really tasty. The staff were caring and friendly, they also recommended an excellent taxi service to take us to and from our party.
No complaint whatsoever.
The room was really lovely good quality facilities , breakfast was brilliant
Lovely spacious room and very nicely furnished. Good wifi. Great carvery meal on Sunday night.
Carpet in hallways needs replacing.
I liked/enjoyed everything. I would stay there everytime without question, unfortunately it's just a little too far out of the way for my needs.
I can't think of anything i didn't like
Just about everything!
Would have liked a smaller portion option on the excellent food
Situated in a peaceful setting. Access to bedrooms for unloading luggage good. Food excellent. Staff very welcoming.Would definitely return if ever in area again.
Good location, good food, good sized room.
Very Small bathroom
Staff we're brilliant.
Breakfast Staff Parking
Stuffy room Noise from ventilation Smell of cooking in our room from the restaurant Wooden frame bed, with protruding corners. Easy to knock legs. Very early breakfast times. No clock in the room. No air conditioning.
The bedroom accommodation was of excellent size and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was excellent especially the cooked sausage and bacon
The carvery in the evening whilst excellent in quantity was not hot enough ,a common fault with carvery when food is under heating lights
We used The Down Inn as an overnight stop on the way to North Wales. What a great move that was. Excellent place and really good value for money..... and the Carvery was great. We will certainly be back to maybe tour around the local area.
