Area very scenic full of history and very interesting. The cuisine was excellent the hotel was value for money and the service was tops ,that was down to the staff who were brill. When we booked for two nights we could only get a room in the hotel for the second night and we were told the room for the first night was very basic which it was but this was reflected in a very cheap price. It seems these rooms are taken by walkers all around Dartmoor and are called bunks, often with multiple beds.

Extremely friendly and kind staff, with good breakfast, (not full English), to a good price, free wifi. The only "downside" was that the toilet was outside the room, but no big deal any way. Will go back next time we are in the area. Fam. Olofsson with friend

The welcome was warm and friendly, good choice of beer, food delicious, location was perfect for the Two Moors Way. We used the multi bed room and it was fine - just right for backpackers. Good showers. No issues at all. It was what we expected.

Location was good. Price seemed reasonable until additional costs kicked in **Beware** Owners decided to charge us double because we checked out later then 11, no warning given, just hammering at the door by the cleaners in the morning followed 10 minutes later by staff eagerly coming to tell me they were going to charge a double the amount booked on my card! Told to get out within 20 minutes. No bath robes provided, even though access to shower involved walking outside. Light in the toilet was not working. Locks on toilet doors also not working. Staff asked for money up front then told me they had charged my card for an addional night the next day without even informing me. Greedy intentions behind false smiles, made for a bad trip. Avoid at all costs

Excellent service, good food. It was perfect for us, as we went to a Jazz session at the rear of the pub, and were able to stay in one of their 'budget rooms', which made the whole trip feasible. We were very comfortable, and were made very welcome.

Fantastic , a real gem of a find. beautiful location , picturesque, great walks. Very friendly, relaxed and hospitable staff. Excellent food, local produce, menu to suit myself, husband and four children aged 14,10,6 and 3. We ate an evening meal and had full English breakfasts in the morning, fresh orange juice, cereals toast and the usual full English cooked really well, to the requirements of both meat eaters and veggies. We stayed over night in the converted stables, cosy warm, basic and just what we were looking for with kids and muddy boots! Over all a fabulous experience that was excellent value for money.

Characterful, staff attentive and the evening menu gave lots of options, all of which were very good. Excellent breakfast, nice warm atmosphere Although basically clean and the bed and room comfortable there was a lack of attention to detail - bins not emptied from previous occupant, old receipts in drawers, hair trap under shower needing cleaning to permit shower tray to drain and so on, although this did not detract from our stay.

The Drewe Arms is full of history and character, within minutes of entering this establishment you feel like you've come home. The staff were exceptional and full of knowledge of the local area. The food was delicious, as was the cider and local ales. The rooms were beautiful, warm clean and comfortable, although there was no tv in either the bedroom or in the bar, I feel it would have been totally out of place here..This is definately a place to get away from it all. .

The location was great and so were facilities. We stayed in one of their budget rooms (converted stables) and the room was very basic but nice and cosy. We came with our dog and there was no extra cost for a pet. We had use of shared shower rooms and toilets (all very clean). There is a car park to the front of the building and also private one at the back, but it is quite difficult to get into with a bigger car. Drewe Arms is also a restaurant/pub, we stayed there on saturday and then it was very busy. It is popular with locals. We didn't have to book the table but needed to wait aroung half an hour for one. We had a very nice meal, the food was delicious. The place has definitely got some magic to it. Next door there is a church and also a post office. Very good value, would stay again and recommend to friends.
