The location was great and so were facilities. We stayed in one of their budget rooms (converted stables) and the room was very basic but nice and cosy. We came with our dog and there was no extra cost for a pet. We had use of shared shower rooms and toilets (all very clean). There is a car park to the front of the building and also private one at the back, but it is quite difficult to get into with a bigger car. Drewe Arms is also a restaurant/pub, we stayed there on saturday and then it was very busy. It is popular with locals. We didn't have to book the table but needed to wait aroung half an hour for one. We had a very nice meal, the food was delicious. The place has definitely got some magic to it. Next door there is a church and also a post office. Very good value, would stay again and recommend to friends.

Excellent service, good food. It was perfect for us, as we went to a Jazz session at the rear of the pub, and were able to stay in one of their 'budget rooms', which made the whole trip feasible. We were very comfortable, and were made very welcome.

Fantastic , a real gem of a find. beautiful location , picturesque, great walks. Very friendly, relaxed and hospitable staff. Excellent food, local produce, menu to suit myself, husband and four children aged 14,10,6 and 3. We ate an evening meal and had full English breakfasts in the morning, fresh orange juice, cereals toast and the usual full English cooked really well, to the requirements of both meat eaters and veggies. We stayed over night in the converted stables, cosy warm, basic and just what we were looking for with kids and muddy boots! Over all a fabulous experience that was excellent value for money.

Characterful, staff attentive and the evening menu gave lots of options, all of which were very good. Excellent breakfast, nice warm atmosphere Although basically clean and the bed and room comfortable there was a lack of attention to detail - bins not emptied from previous occupant, old receipts in drawers, hair trap under shower needing cleaning to permit shower tray to drain and so on, although this did not detract from our stay.

The Drewe Arms is full of history and character, within minutes of entering this establishment you feel like you've come home. The staff were exceptional and full of knowledge of the local area. The food was delicious, as was the cider and local ales. The rooms were beautiful, warm clean and comfortable, although there was no tv in either the bedroom or in the bar, I feel it would have been totally out of place here..This is definately a place to get away from it all. .

The staff were very helpful and friendly and catered to all my requests very well indeed. They were very approachable and I found the Drewe Arms to be a very relaxing place to be in. My room was very warm and cosy with lots of spcae. The car park was down a very narrow, windy lane and I was worried about scratching my car! The pillows were quite hard and there was a constant rumbling coming from outside, but I was still able to get a good night's sleep.

The rooms or rather bunk houses are excellent value for money, comfortable and clean. We could not ask for a nicer place to stay with our 2 large dogs and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The beer is kept well and the food was delicious although how I am expected to walk too far after the huge breakfasy I don't know?

it was an unexpected pleasure to stay here, I was on a walking holiday with friends and thought it would be a bit of a dump(because of the price) but I couldn't have been more wrong .The stable accommodation whilst basic was quirky and amazingly clean,as were the showers/loos. The staff couldn't have done more for us, my only regret is not spending longer there, plenty of walks in the area and good pub grub.

This was an awesome experience. The pub is steaped in history and it was the perfect place to take our visitors from South Africa to experience true English heritage. We loved the food and the atmosphere and the fact that the pub was still so close to it's original state. To be fair we opted for the backpackers rooms with bunkbeds, so the comfort was poor because they had cheap mattresses on the beds, however they do have lovely four poster bed rooms which I'm sure are very comfortable.
