The staff were great, efficient and friendly.
The hotel exuded quality and professionalism. The rooms were immaculate and I especially liked the layout of the shower/wetroom. The bed was wonderful too!
I was only booked in for one night and didn't get the chance to have dinner in the restaurant. If the food is anything like the quality of the rest of the hotel, I've missed a treat.
Good menu and selection of beers
The light pollution in my room from the street lighting. The non-requsted early morning alarm call!!
A warm welcome from the staff the room was very clean and the breakfast was very good we have family that lives nearby so the location was perfect,we will stay there when we visit from now on and i would recommend this hotel to anyone who visits the area.
There was nothing i didnt like
Great rooms and excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.
The rooms are beautifully styled and you get an immediate sense of luxury as soon as you step through the door. The staff are professional and friendly and the location is ideal. I have stayed in both superior and executive and loved then both. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Every one was friendly went in bar both nights very good staff dident get time to eat there but the breakfast was spot on very clean hotel will defently be coming back
restaurant and quality of food at reasonable price
corner room on main road slight disturbance from traffic and other outside noise
Selection of ales
This hotel is in a great location and we were very pleased with the room and the huge bed! Staff were very knowledgeable when I requested gluten free food, the gluten free toast at breakfast was very much appreciated!
That the hand soap was over the bath and nowhere near the sink!
The look of the room, the staff, the bar.the cleanliness, value for money.
The noise of the traffic outside our window.
friendly staff, nice breakfast and location within town
The quality of refurbishment to this 1890's building is excellent. It had a great feel to it including the new "traditional" style lift inside the original staircase. The rooms are clean, comfortable and stylish. All staff were excellent. Overall I would recommend this hotel and it would be my first choice if staying in Barrow again.
The shower was not up to the quality expected given the high standard elsewhere and the tile grouting was starting to look grubby. Better quality coffee in rooms would be nice. Breakfast did not deliver on expectations. Would not have paid to have it as an extra.
Nice big room. Plenty of space. Really nice breakfast
Bedroom. Very dusty. Big rip on duvet. Cover. And no soap or bath wash for bath
Staff where fantastic, meal was really good, service was next to none, the room was nice, only down fall was having a room over looking a busy road which was noisey throughout the night!
Large comfortable room - shower was spectacular. Cleanliness was extremely good! Food was delicious.
A bit noisy on a night from the bar and some guests.
Staff were very good and attentive. Pub type bar and restaurant but the food was good
Car park across a busy street.
Location is good.
Breakfast can have more vegitarian options & its around 30 mins away from lake district.
The bathtub was deep and comfortable.
Everything you need for a mini break, nice bar & restaurant so you don't need to leave the hotel for an evening of good food & drinks. The breakfast included with the room price was excellent with an option of the buffet aswell as a cooked selection setting you up for the day!
As is standard in most hotels there is no smoking throughout so you have to go outside to smoke
Room is very big and confortable. Bath room is very good as well
Slight far from Lake district
We enjoyed our stay at the Duke of Edinburgh hotel & Bar, our room was very comfortable, all hotel staff were very friendly and the food was lush:0)
Nothing at all we enjoyed our hotel stay very much:0)
room layout was poor, mirror not near power points i.e. for hairdryer use!, in bathroom again mirror away from sink i.e. shaving, also hand soap in shower section away from sink!!,not enough storage space, worst of all room made up for single occupancy on two nights when paid for double!!!
Very close to the Lake District, the hotel has a pub downstairs that serves very good food and the staff are very helpful and polite. Would definitely stay again!
No fridge in the room.
