We stayed in an executive double and it was more like a suite. Excellent location;food stunning...what more do you need?
Nothing. It was excellent
Breakfast was very good and staff looking after restaurant area.
Must dust out of reach places and move objects in rooms to dust.
We both enjoyed all the facilities and the food at this hotel and it great value for money. All of the staff were friendly, polite and approachable to answer any questions.
The mattress on one side, at it's edge, had given up the ghost and needs replacing. But the remainder of the large mattress was in good order and was extremely comfortable.
Hotel was amazing, staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. The coal fire in the bar was a real treat, so cosy and heartwarming, also the breakfast was fantastic along with the food in the restaurant, amazing value and service by the staff.q
Having to leave.
Couldn't fault our stay here, would definitely stay again :)
To celebrate our dad's birthday party, the family gathered in secret in Barrow in Furness which meant we had to find an hotel as we couldn't stay at dad's house. The Duke was the most convenient for our purpose and it proved to be one of the best we had stayed in. From the moment we walked into the foyer we were treated promptly and courteously and when we found our room to be on the front of the building and was subject to traffic noise for most of the night we were shown another room without any fuss or problem...a great service. The rooms were spotless, well appointed and fresh, the toilet fascilities were impressive with a massive walk in shower and a toilet that was as big as our living room. Breakfast, included in our room price was delicious and served promptly and courtiously as well. Can't fault this hotel at all and will be back, the next time we visit Barrow..
Can't think of anything we can find fault with...
Staff were helpful and friendly, and the room was very comfortable. Meals especially breakfast were very good.
Poor view from room 305
Two minute walk from railway station and near the center of town. A very well restored facility. I had a really large room with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast and dinner were both good. Staff were competent and friendly.
Dinner was in the basement. Although the meal and service were fine and the room nicely done I would rather have eaten in the upstairs breakfast room which is quite large and airy. It is used only for bar service in the evening.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, hotel was comfortable and facilities were good. Good ale bar which was nice and lively on a Saturday night.
The room was large and very nicely decorated. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely too.
no problem this hotel is fine, good breakfast very well and good service staff
Have problem in shower because floor water over all
Having been b4 I knew which room we wanted but when we arrived the tv was broke in this room the receptions went above and Beyond giving us. A choice. Off 4 other rooms in the hotel which had fantastic bed bath n shower room lovely. Decorated breakfast outstanding . Couldn't ask for anymore we will def b goin back again
hotel maintains its original features which was impressive, good decor and open fire in the bar area. Room decorated beautifully and a nice size bath
location!! Sat Nav brought us around the back of the hotel were three less than reputable looking gentleman appeared to be waiting for there dealer to arrive!!! Tesco next door Kwik save round the corner and a drive through the factory's to get there!! I know there's nothing can be done about this, but we nearly cancelled when we arrived as we were that shocked!!
Stylish contemporary decor in an historic building works well. Very comfortable relaxed atmosphere and good food.
Easy access from the station, spotless spacious room, good shower, huge and comfortable bed, helpful staff and a good breakfast. We'll be back!
the hotel was beautiful, clean and the location was ideal for where I neededto go. The rooms was stunning and perfect, the free standing bath was lovley to relax in.
no fault to the hotel but boy racers started racing from 1.30am till 4am at the lights which caused a sleepless night. parking is across the road and this was not identified on the website, however was literally across the road.
Abundant choices for breakfast relatively large room free parking nice attendance Nice bar
some smell in the door way
Everything really apart from i thought it was a bit expensive at the bar and disappointed that the drinks were not the real brands like bayles run diserano. So we went to the wetherspoons further down where food and drink was a little cheaper. However it was the best breakfast I've had in a long time and very good service.
great location and value for money, staff were friendly, room was very spacious and breakfast was excellent
LOCATION IS GOOD
NOT ENOUGH SPACE/SHELVES IN THE BATHROOM
The ceilings are high, the bathroom is excellent. The bed was comfortable, the room big and décor nice. Best bacon I have ever tasted.
The floodlights just outside the window. One of the curtains was difficult to close being against a wall, so there was some light in the room.
At least I enjoyed a bit the dinner but not hotel standard
Room stuffy carpets dirty too noise evening time the bar was filled up with outsiders so much that we were not able to have our drink on the bar. It was ridiculous.
the food was superb, the staff first class one of the best breakfasts ever! the room was fantastic
traffic noise kept us awake most of the night the room was far too hot
very comfy bed, iron and ironing board in room[though we did'nt use it] staff very pleasant and the cooked breakfast was extremely nice
arrived to early for check in, told we could leave our bags in the reception area there was no room to put it in to make it secure, it was left under a table for 8 hours
