Excellent location, very handy for town centre
The Inn has a boisterous disco which lasts until 3am on weekends, fine if you're a raver but not if you just want to sleep
When I arrived at 8.30pm the Inn was locked up and in darkness. There was no reply from either the phone no. on the booking confirmation or the phone no. on the wooden board outside. Eventually a member of staff appeared who said they had no note of my booking. My money was taken in virtual darkness and it was pointed out there was no breakfast. The room was clean. In the morning I had to let myself out and put the key back thru' the letter box.
I was aware that breakfast was not included, no ensuite and noise for half the night before i arrived. The price charged does not fully reflect these lacks. On my recent holiday i stayed at six locations in different towns and this is the only one I would not return to.
Nothing in there
The whole lot wish i never booked in there feel so upset it spoilt my holiday
Blood stained bed sheets which I didn't see until the morning, no heating, small tv and wifi didn't work. Smallest shower room I've ever saw and only 1 shared toilet on landing
Dirty communal bathroom
We didn't like anything
Entry from back was rubbish fully dirty
It's central location and it's simplicity. It's a no-frill overnight stop (admittedly non-en-suite) priced well for people who don't have high expectations and don't mind 'roughing-it'. We were pleased and well satisfied so well done to the owners!
Booking-in was a bit slow due to lack of clear understanding by the bar staff but once he found his way it went well. Parking is a tad awkward if you arrive early but after the workers in town go home there is plenty of free parking close-by
The location and staff, you got what you paid for.
Room too small
Beds were clean & comfortable. Good free WiFi. Close to centre of town.
Very poor welcome.......How dare we disturb him!! Don't arrive there late on your first night.....there will be no 'reception' @ all!!! After being led down a dark dingy alleyway, we were shown to our room. No light bulbs above, with just a small table lamp our only source of light. The chap was aware of this but made no attempt to rectify the problem. The bathroom was small grotty and I'll kept and a far cry from the pictures on the web site. Felt very much like a DHS dosshouse. We were glad to get away.
it was cheap and near where I needed to be
I couldn't get through on the lead up to the stay which made me nervous but it turned out they only open at 6pm.
Without a doubt the worst establishment I have ever stayed in, Booked a single room which was more or less a closet, tiny room with no external window, small ceiling height window that had to be open and went through to the foyer. Bathroom was filthy, dirty toilet and what looked like blood stains on the floor, felt scummy, no soap provided for the shower... No wifi was available despite the room being advertised otherwise, I would never have booked had I known this, noise of people moving through the foyer at night was horrific and woke me up a few times, No one was ever around to sort these issues... Biggest insult was the price... total rip off 60 quid for 2 nights, This place was worth 6-10 quid maximum no wifi, no breakfast included, I had no way of communicating or making onward arrangements... this ruined my experience of Northern England and the Lake district. Totally unimpressed
Everything about it where it is situated the town the shops the food hope to go back again soon.
Big noise during whole night, room is very dirty.
Clean bedding and towel's
Place was run down, untidy, small shared showers 1st s floor shower not working correctly. Loud music till 3am. No cups or brew kit for a cuppa. Car park off main road round back but unable to use back way. £50 when booked on line but charged us £60 when turned up.
really cheap for high season central location shared bathroom/w.c had a bath! friendly staff i was in the annex which was more pleasant & quieter than the boozer let me dump my gear before 5.pm
tiny room no wardrobe no soap in dispenser can't register till 5.0pm table lamp didn't work
The noisy disco downstairs the lack of window in my room the filthy soap in my sink the size of the shower - tiny!
Location close to town centre, shops and restaurants.
Dislike the coffin size shower box. It needs immediate repair and upgrading. Check in time after 5PM is not reasonable. The WIFI should work as advertised
Good location Bed comfy
Not able to check in until 5pm Very noisy at weekends, really loud music until 3am, unable to sleep, bed actually shaking to the bass music. Bed had alot of hairs on sheets, damp stain on ceiling. Shower was broken in seperate cubicle. Drunken people outside of window until 4am. Stench of beer and sticky floor in bar area next morning. Would not stay again. No parking nearby, had to use parking area on riverside.
Handy for the centre of town
The room was very cheap.
The major problem was that when I stayed on a Friday and Saturday nights it was difficult to get to sleep before about 3 a.m. because of the noise from people leaving the pub.
The place was a disgrace worst place ive ever stayed at absolutely ridiculous its was smelly i would never stay there again!!!
poor facilities in room
