I enjoyed our stay at The Dusthole. Throughout our stay we were made to feel at home whilst staff kept their distance. The room was very comfortable and very quiet.
The en suite toilet was very smelly after flushing and the shower wouldn't warm up very well in the room we were staying in, however this wouldn't stop me from staying again.
Friendly staff, good food and a few updates since we late stayed to the cabins
A hair dryer in the cabin would of been nice.
Very friendly staff. And good food.
Having stayed before I knew what to expect and we were not disappointed. Very helpful owner and staff. Will be back.
Comfortable, nice olde world charm of pub, would be great in summer.
The cabins, whilst comfortable and unusual, were very cold in January
Quaint building good location friendly staff
The staff were very friendly, welcoming and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable and special. The room was very clean and bed was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast, dinner and local ale were all delicious. Great value for money.
Attractive 16th century building. Accommodating landlord and staff Good breakfast
Everything, food room staff and the dog, made most welcome
loved the layout. the owner gave us a little history talk and a tour of the place after breakfast.
A nice old building. A nice English breakfast so long as you do not want anything healthy. Clean beds.
Dirty, cold, poor staff, argumentative staff, no hot water in wash basin with a blocked waste, mould in shower, no milk for room tea, no central heating working, dust everywhere, ripped towels, poor beds, hard pillows, lots of light bulbs not working in the bedroom. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Good welcome, attentive staff, excellent breakfast, well laid out friendly dog,
Had cabin, very cold, imagine lovely in summer,
I found every thing good and I enjoyed my stay. Would not have a problem staying there agaiñ and probably stay there next year . I would love to stay there in the summer and take advantage of the courtyard. Relax and just take in the surrounding building.
Quite and Peaceful Friendly helpful staff Comfortable bedding Spacious room and bathroom Linen smelt clean and fresh
Food was heated up from carvery and was luke warm Room needed cleaning thoroughly it was dusty - could that be a feature as its called the Dusthole? plumbing needs attention wobbly loo could only get BBC1 and 2 on TV. Needs some investment
A nice welcome from Tony again and good to see that Jerry was still looking after the guests. Still doing mean evening meals.
Nothing to dislike.
The friendly welcome by all at this "real" pub with loads of atmosphere, good food and good beer.
No particular dislikes.
The Dusthole is as the name suggests an old style coaching Inn full of character and charm run by people who understand the building, the history and know they are custodians not owners. The restaurant serves substantial meals, bar serves good ales and all prices are reasonable. We stayed in one of the outdoor lodges which was quite, warm and very comfortable.
Shepton Mallet is not a place I would recommend for a night out. The town centre is tired and felt threatening at night.
The staff and of course Jake the Dog. The warmth and friendliness of the hotel. The food was exceptional... At the end of the day "The Dusthole" is a hidden gem!!!!! We will be going back!!!!!!!!
Nothing at all!!!!!
Character of the place, friendly people.
To be fair the heater in the bathroom didn't work in the morning. The hot air heater supplied in the room helped but it would have been more comfortable if the bathroom heater did as it was meant which unfortunately on this occasion it didn't.
The room was very spacious.
The room seemed damp and unaired. Shower was for little people only! Breakfast left little to be desired. Didn't think it was worth the money at all.
Not a very warm welcome; just handed the key Breakfast was a bit dried out as it was kept warm under lights Chilly in the log cabins Bit noisy
Staff very friendly and very welcoming. Rooms are huge.
The rooms are very tired, I thought the room rate was very high for the quality of the rooms, furnishings and fittings
Old builing with alot of character.Fantastic breakfast.
Food in the evening was average.
Food good. Located right on our cycling route. Fascinating old building. Friendly owner
Tired and musty feel to room
Old world charm and rumbling buildings
The Hotel needs a lot doing to it to bring it up to standard
