Owner gave us a great welcome and was chilled out and helpful. Location was in a quiet place away from the main attractions which was nice.
Wi-Fi needs to improve.
Perfect base for a walking weekend. Good facilities... and for the price you really can't match this place. It has a bar downstairs that is open in the evenings, but you also have access to a kitchen to organise your own food. Local restaurants etc are a 10/15 minute drive away. There are shared bathroom facilities but we never had to wait for them... and we even had duvets (!!) ... in a hostel ... how great is that!!!! Perfect... I will definitely be back!
Great for people who like to walk and then have a bit of a social in the evening as the bar can get quite lively. Might not work so well for families as this can go on quite late at the weekend... The parking can also be problematic as there is no designated car park, and I can imagine the locals get pretty irritated when it's busy as you have to park on the street. Other than that was brilliant :)
Friendly and helpful staff Nice location Clean and tidy rooms
Great place to stay... Nice homely feel to the bunkhouse..
very clean and well equiped kitchen. great people. photos of the rooms spot on and up to date
could have had something to sit on in the bunk rooms other than the bunk beds
It's exactly as described, perfect as a pit stop on a long journey or as a place to stay whilst you explore the local area.
Was a struggle to find parking.
Like a home from home. Good well stocked and maintained kitchen. Comfortable room and bathrooms showers and excellent heating.
Parking can be tight when bunk house is busy
Very quiet. Good kitchen. Good twin rooms. Friendly staff
Bar area in need of some TLC and refurb. No basic bar food available. Shower a bit cramped
Landlord was superb one of the nicest people we have met looked after the group amazingly offering anything and everything he could even a lift I to town if bus didn't come!!!! - we are bikers so not used to this high level of treatment - we will return again on bikes and with our families
The accomadation was excellent. Large clean rooms
No food served in pub
When i booked i was informed that the money had been taken from my account. when i arrived the owner told me i hadn't paid this upset my budget for the weekend and meant i had to go find a cash machine in the middle of Wales.
Easy and comfortable
Location ( access to Snowdon and area) Pub atmosphere especially the night the choir appeared and sang for an hour or so. Quietness
Access to toilets was difficult first thing in morning from 6am onwards due to numbers having baths and showers and so denying toilet access.
It was relaxed and easy going. The self cook facility was good. The bar was friendly and reasonably priced.
The decor was very dated and the rooms could have been cleaner. The showers where very small.
Friendly staff and bar downstairs that's obviously important to the community. Very clean and great value for money
Wifi was dodgy and no mobile signal in the village
Location and facilities were great. The building has such a charm and character, the effect place to warm up after a day out in the rain!
Wifi isn't great.
Second visit so knew what to expect. Hostel style rooms; shared bathroom facilities; shared kitchen. Basic but excellent value. New owners, very friendly. Excellent bar open Wednesday through til Sunday. No local shops so take all the food you need for your stay, there's a fridge in the kitchen. The pub doesn't serve food either.
There is nothing to be disappointed about here if you recognise this for what it is - basic, cheap accommodation for people interested in getting outdoors for hiking, cycling etc.
Clean rooms, comfy beds,
Wifi limited Chairs in room would b a help - no where to sit on arrival in room
The location is superb, right where u need to be! In the heart of an adventure. Gary was an excellent host with some really well kept beers.
Gary has recently acquired the place and is hoping to start offering food! A breakfast would have really gone down well as it was we travelled to Betws Y Coed for it- hope this gets sorted, having said that there is a kitchen!!
friendly staff free wifi clean rooms quiet location good bar
The place was good value for money in the welsh countryside and ideal if you want a quiet retreat close to Betws Y Coed
unfortunately there was no one there to greet us when we arrived and the local community was less than friendly towards giving us a hand in finding some parking, which turns out to be the church parking and not the bunkhouses. the village it is located is quite isolated and not part of Betws Y Coed like we thought. lovely place but will not be staying here again
Room was very comfortable and clean and the overall layout felt very cosy.
Would be better if there was an option to order food...
It was close to where i needed to be.
- above a pub - one night couldn't sleep for all the noise. - not luxury - i don't know what was luxury about it? - our luxury (i say that loosely), two hangers, a table with a lamp and two twin beds, no room to move. - health and safety issue - fire alarm went off on the sunday morn - half of the people were still in the building. Ten mins later came the owner to turn alarm off and go up the stairs. She did not check every room. Surely, this is a health and safety issue? - For the price - it really wasn't worth the price, i know places a bit further away for the same price and it was no where near the same. I was going to ask for a refund but didn't find the owners approachable. like in the pub the first night - me and my partner went up to the bar to order some drinks they were more interested in talking to the regular / locals - thought it was rather rude really.
