We stayed one night for my husbands birthday, all staff were friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble, big comfy bed, hot shower, filling breakfast. Would definitely recommend.
There was absolutely nothing i didn't like about this place, one of the best we have stayed in.
awesome place to stay, it's clean, shops near by, 10 minutes from town and we really enjoyed our brief stay.
Location, room, staff.
good location lovely staff
- the bathroom door didn't work properly and locked us out in the middle of the night - noisy room
Location, homeliness, parking, wifi, breakfast, pub open til late, shower, bed, changed towels and made bed
Heated towel rail didn't work but changed towels for us anyway so no biggy
Clean and comfortable
Décor a bit tired
Great location. Good sized room. Good breakfast.
Good location for Howerton College.
Fantastic location, right next to the train station and city centre, good solid English breakfast included in the price and a pub attached to the guesthouse which had all the Premier League games (but never got rowdy enough in the evenings for us to be able to hear it from the room).
Staff was amazing. A fun place to stay! Convenient to train station and bus service to town (although it is a nice walk to town as well).
kind staff, breakfast in the pub tached the Hotel and fine access to Cambridge city center.
noisy because of the room facing the street, poor mattless.
staff members are friendly and flexible, helpful. Since this is a pub at the ground floor would expect some noise at night but it was kept to the minimum
suggest to provide a better director to the train station
Staff, pub, room, easy walk into Cambridge
Warm and friendly would stay there again if in Cambridge again.
Breakfast served on a small plate and all piled on. Could have used a bigger plate and to serve the toast on a separate plate. Ps I am a fully trained chef so the breakfast was a bit poor.
Friendly staff and excellent food. Easy walk from train station.
Visit was too short.
Location, the value for money was excellent and the staff are really friendly.
Comfortable beds, powerful shower, spacious room, decent full English breakfasts
The Earl of Derby staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spotlessly clean, well maintained, plenty of hot water for a bath or shower. The rooms are equipped with hairdryer, Iron, kettle and selection of coffee, tea and hot chocolate with real milk, sugar (white and brown) and a smaller selection of biscuits. The beds are clean, comfortable, the room warm, an occasional table for office work (if you have to) and you have full control over the rooms heating...have it as hot or cold as you like. Food is superb with a choice of snacks and meals an the full English breakfast is a feast unto itself - give yourself an extra fifteen minutes to let it go down. Just on the edge of town it is an easy walk to all of Cambridges historic views but also close to all the shops. An easy walk to busses or train station else book a taxi to pick you up outside. All in all I cannot praise the Earl of Derby enough which is why I always stay when I'm in Cambridge
There was nothing I didn't like
Very helpful staff, comfortable room and hearty home cooked food. Excellent value for money
The quality of the room was surprisingly good. Staff are very helpful. Close to the railway station and excellent value.
No cereals for breakfast. The bar itself needs some refurbishment.
Room like it was back in the 70's it was clean, bar area very badly run when checked in till minute we left our meeting which was around 3 hrs barman/manager just sat at the bar drinking beer and delegating to younger staff, we asked for a coffee and it is the only one he served and that was cold. If I was to stay incambridge again better to spend another £10 and go somewhere half decent
A good place in a good location at a good price. No frills but everything required was there. A good place to have a hearty meal and lay your head for the night. Very nice, friendly staff. Was concerned being a pub that it might be noisy but this definitely was NOT the case. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
Not a modern hotel but then they weren't asking for modern hotel prices.
Soo close to town centre :)
Good no frills accommodation. ("What it says on tin")
Food very dull.
The Earl of Derby is just opposite the Botanic gardens and a 15 min walk from the centre. Also very close to the train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a good combination and was speedily delivered to our table. Nothing seemed to much for the staff. Would definitely stay here again.
