Clean and tidy rooms Great breakfast Lovely seaview Friendly and helpful hosts
The road could be busy weekday mornings
Very clean room a little dated but had a fabulous view overlooking the sea . Comfy bed , with clean lining and tea facilities within the room .
Short time span for breakfast , only 9:00 - 9:30 am ,but great full English breakfast .
The Hosts The Location The value for money The peace and relaxed atmosphere
no view from my window( brick wall)
The view of the sea, straight out the window. Breakfast in the sunny dining room was great.
Felt a bit like a boarding house, tiny dark lounge, lots of steep stairs, small room, tiny bathroom, decor all a bit down at heel.
I only stayed 1 night but was welcomed, found everything went smoothly, had a good night's sleep with a decent breakfast, all for a decent price.
we loved it all
All was good, location to town, room was nice, fantastic view, breakfast nice and staff pleasant. Lots of hot water and nice touch with bottle of water in room and accessories in bathroom. Host was friendly and it was a bonus having free parking round the back
The road was extremely noisy and I couldn't sleep as had to have the window open as it was quite hot in the room. Tiny shower
Everything ,custom service atmosfear
Location (sea front), friendly staff, breakfast, cleanliness. I would request a room at the back if I stayed there again.
Unavoidable traffic noise (it's a busy busy road). Early morning street cleaning & beach 'tidying' vehicles were unbelievably noisy. Can't be helped, it's a seafront premises, in a lovely part of the country, but fine for a short stay.
The sea view and the balcony only, even though it was very hard to go out, as the window was very old and falling apart and didn't open up properly, as it was on the pully. Almost broke my back trying to go out on the balcony!
Everything! The double bedroom we had was so tiny, more like a single bedroom with a double bed in it, no room to move at all. The bathroom was the same, a plane has got a bigger sink, not to mention the shower which I could hardly fit in and I am a slim person. There was no iron, had to ask for it. The WI-FI was very poor. The whole place was tacky, smelly hallways and cheaply furnitured. Except the price I paid for it!..What a waste of my money! The breakfast was nasty, a low cheap quality food full of grease and fat. Had to go out and pay for decent breakfast. The whole stay was a joke, couldn't wait to get out of there. For a few pounds more we could have had a decent hotel a few doors down The Esplanade. I can honestly say it was the worst B&B we ever stayed in!..Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy if I had one!
Accommodation needs upgrade. Room was clean but basic. Not serviced adequately daily. Limited choice at breakfast. No fruit or yoghurt. Slow service in crowded cramped room. Generally seemed stingy and poor value.
the sea view was excellent from my room
I think half hour is a bit too short for breakfast time and you always seemed to feel rushed to get out of there
fantastic seaviews, great breakfast, comfy bed!
Location. Breakfast. Simplicity. No frills. Lovely staff
The breakfast room was a bit hot. That's my only Winge
Our host waited up to let us in after our arrival had been delayed till past midnight.
At £447 for three nights in a double and single attic room, we thought the Edenhurst a little over-priced, particularly since it clearly hadn't been re-decorated for some time. Also, the biscuits and teabags in the room were not replenished after the first day, and neither were the towels changed.
Very nice staff. Excellent breakfast. Super room with sea view . Comfy room . Fantastic
the location was great for everything we required we had a balcony which was great because the carnival was on
breakfast was only 30 minuet time slot longer would have been better parking was a nightmare you got a permit but ended up streets away probably was bad because of carnival shower was small a large person would have difficulties
The owners were friendly & helpful. They resolved issue with the shower very quickly & the breakfast was good. We had a great view of the beach from our room and the town was very close
Perfect for a short break. Amazing location, tasty breakfast (with gluten free or vege options available) and clean, comfortable room. They have permits available for parking which is a bonus.
Lots of steps to get to our room in the attic.
Fantastic view Great breakfast
Small room and en-suite
Could have done with air con in rooms.
The position was ok
only saw owners to book in, then not until breakfast next day. Family room no. 3 at back, was so hot we were up till midnight sponging down our grandaughter with cold water. even though we had had the window open all day and the curtains pulled shut to keep out the sun. No sound on lots of tv stations, reported at breakfast but still the same when we left. No hairdryer as advertised. Hotel next time, much cheaper than the £100 per night we paid.
I had a single room. It was small but very well laid out, with plenty of storage, even including drawers in the divan. The room (including the ensuite) was clean, smart and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast very good. The guesthouse is very well located, being right on the sea front and within easy walking distance of the various attractions, the station, the shopping streets and the harbour.
Parking is difficult. I know that some guesthouses offer parking permits and I hope the Edenhurst can be persuaded to follow suit. I didn't know there was guest wifi until I spotted a rather small sign on the wall as I was leaving. It would be useful to mention its availability in the guest directory.
