Very comfortable relaxed atmosphere and facilities and free wifi. Very clean and good breakfast. Owner was very helpful and friendly without being at all intrusive. Really convenient for train station and bus services. |

We had a lovely stay at the Edinburgh Lodge. The staff were helpful and friendly and the room very comfortable. Lovely breakfast with a wide range of food to choose from. Couldn't fault the place and would definitely recommend it. |

The room was lovely, large and in an original condition This hotel is classed as a 4* however, I cannot understand how they acheived this. The breakfast was not good, is only served between 8 and 9, even at weekends. I needed to be at work for 0730 on Monday and asked for a continental breakfast in the morning, I was told this would be delivered to my room, it was but at 2200 the night before! Orange juice, yogurt and milk were part of the breakfast and there was no where to keep these cool. I've stayed in lots of hotels in this area and none were like this. The room I stayed in was a family room but only had a shower, I would like to see parents trying to wash their children in the morning in a small enclosed shower cubicle. |

Clean and comfortable bedroom and friendly helpful staff. Very old fashioned & bathroom in need of upgrade. No proper bar or evening meal available. Breakfast time very inflexible (8am-9am) & not suitable for business customers. More like a B&B than a hotel. |

The room was attractive and well equipped; breakfast choices were excellent. As stated, the 1st nt was charged to our card. Only on checking out did we find there was a £2 charge which we then had to pay again for the 2nd night. A notice on the desk would have allowed us the chance to get cash to avoid this charge for at least the 2nd night. |

Keys provided for both outside and room doors made access easy. Breakfast good. On bus route to city centre. Despite the stated booking conditions that all payment would be made during my stay, I was charged twice - a deposit before I arrived and another payment at the end of my stay. This meant I had to pay twice for using the credit card. |

The place was homely and quiet. The water pressure wasn't very good and I had a low rumble from a hot water tank or something near my room that interupted my sleep sometimes. |
