Nice and helpful staff. Lack of city noise and good Chinese food.

Not convenient connection to this place, so you need the car to reach the place form airport.

Only a Chinese restaurant which many people, including me, do not like, and poorly cooked anyway - but no alternative anywhere in the village, therefore no choice. Poor bathroom facilities. But most important, the lighting in the room was impossible to do any work by - much too dark which was a severe handicap to me since I had a great deal of work that I should have done the evening I stayed. But was not able to complete once it became dark. Breakfast was very poor with no fresh fruit and no mushrooms or tomatoes as part of a 'Cooked' breakfast.

Large wellappointed room with microwave, fridge, tea and coffee, very quiet, comfortable bed, great breakfast. Very affordable and close to Cambridge for perople with a car...but not Cambridge prices. Lovely staff...quaint little counry pub, but the accoommodation is modern motel style out the back.

The staff were great, very friendly, approachable and helpful. Also liked the microwave and fridge in the room, very handy if staying for a number of days.

Lack of info regarding shower, lack of water pressure for the shower, ascot type water heater for the sink.

We were looking for a base with authentic and peaceful countryside ambience, off the beaten track, to explore some of Cambridgeshire. The Elephant and Castle at Sawtry proved to meet our needs wonderfully. The locality was easily accessible, parking was ample and the accommodation was obviously thoughtfully arranged and very comfortable. The welcome and hospitality from all members of staff was warm and sustained and our evening meals and breakfast were most satisfying and efficiently served. This is very friendly place with a mix of real village pub and private, quiet well-presented accommodation. Many thanks to all who helped make our stay so enjoyable and memorable.

Fantastic staff. Fine modern accomodations located behind the pub in a separate building. They went out of the way to make us feel at home. They even did our laundry free of charge while we visited a historic house even though we only spent one night with them. We also had a great meal in the pub which is rented by a Chinese family. Great country location worth the short drive out of town.
