There was no wi-fi facility available anywhere in the hotel premises. It's a false claim they make that they have wi-fi facility available for customers. When we enquired at the reception we were informed its too busy due to many users but couldn't find connection even at 3 AM.

We all enjoyed our stay at The Elgin Hotel. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The grounds and garden around the hotel were well kept and had a good veiw over the Firth of Forth. Our room was a bit small, but was very clean and comfortable, and we all slept very well. We enjoyed a very nice cooked breakfast with plenty of choice. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Nice quite surroundings near a little harbour. Had asked for sea-view and got two nice rooms with sea-view including view to Forth Bridge, though only 6 rooms have direct sea-view. Breakfast is good. Stayed two weekdays. In the weekends there are often weddings, so it's possibly not so quite in weekends. Only 30 min's by car to Edinburgh Castle and Stirling Castle. No complaints. Rooms not so soundproof, but it didn´t matter in our case.

This hotel is in a beautiful setting...sitting next to the River Forth. Very peaceful and scenic setting. The hotel decor is tired looking and could do with some renovation/repainting together with new bedding/accessories to visually bring the hotel up to a better standard. The hotel sits in a beautiful location and this would enhance the overall standing of the hotel.

The location was nice but was not on the estuary as you may have thought from a view on the pictures. When we arrived the door to our room was propped open and the two large windows were wide open. After closing the door we realised this was to try and get rid of the cat urine stench. The bed was under a window where the curtain was too short and shone light through in th early hours. The breakfast was very greasy and barely edible. On departure the hotel owner rudely asked if we had paid! We will not be staying here again.

All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The large double room overlooking the Firth of Forth was very comfortable and had everything required for our 2 night stay. The choice and standard of food served was very good.
