Much better than 2 star standard. Friendly welcome, good food, pleasant attentive owners and staff. Good standard of decoration and fittings. The bathroom in room 27 won't disappoint. Free parking 15mins walk to city centre.
Very clean, large room with lovely windows. Relaxed atmosphere, free to come and go as we pleased. Happy to give us an extra room key when requested. Accommodated our pet hamster. Plenty of hot water all times of the day. Good wifi provision Prompt service at breakfast
While making toast in the breakfast room may save time for the chef, accidents happen and burnt toast really smells pretty bad. Though apologetic, the staff didn't take the initiative to do anything. We had to ask to open a window and then got evils from the staff while the smoke cleared - but I'm asthmatic and was suffering! Fire doors were propped open, not only is this a hazard but all the cooking smells circulated through the hotel. Our room often smelt of chips. Request for room off the main road ignored. Thin curtains. Breakfast items for vegetarians were very limited. We were pretty bored of mushrooms on toast after a week - and a cooked breakfast doesn't count if there are no baked beans! Lack of fresh fruit and continental options at breakfast. Fresh bread instead of sweet processed sliced would make such a difference to the breakfast.
comfy bed, great shower.
slight smell of damp.
friendly and helpful staff, location is good
the full breakfast is somehow weird.
Service,parking, friendly and family atmosphere
Breakfast was great, staff helpful and friendly. Had an evening meal in the onsite restaurant, meal size large and great value, drinks reasonably priced and staff great. Rooms large and airy.
Everything, Breakfast and hospitality outstanding. In future every time we sail with Cunard, we will stop at Elizabeth Hotel Thankyou!!
huge room, large bathroom , very comfy bed , lovely bed linen, nice towels. Breakfast very good. quiet at the back of the hotel. Very good price compared to chain hotels. Free wifi . Near lovely park.
shower could have been stronger and a warmer welcome after a 6 hour journey!
Staff: polite, helpful, competent.
No fresh fruit at breakfast? Bathroom skylight badly needed cleaning!
I didn't stay in the main hotel, the building I stayed in felt and looked old and in need of renovation.
Our evening meal was very tasty and our visitors enjoyed it too
Comfortable room with excellent bed. Towels with some pile on them. Great breakfast.
Poor deafening between rooms. Floorboards squeaked.
We had some issues with our 1st room & was sorted straight away
That we had to complain in the 1st place
The staff are accommodating and very helpful, wanting to resolve any problems that may arrise.
The hotel is in the process of being updated, therefore, some rooms are more dated than others. If you are travelling in a group some of your groups are paying the same rate for a much more modern, updated room.
I really love this place they make you feel at home I was in hurry ..going to work could'nt have breakfast they manager suprise me with sandwich to take with me ...many thanks
Good size room and bathroom. Our room was at the back of the hotel and very quiet. Plenty of free parking. Full english breakfast was included in the price
The proprietors & staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely cooked breakfast served on hot plates so food stays lovely and hot (just the way I like it). My compliments to the chef & catering staff.
Housekeeping - I discussed issue identified with the proprietor and hopefully, issue will not reoccur. Otherwise, my stay was pleasant.
I've stayed here last year. And absolutely loved it again. Good location close to Southampton Center and the uni. Nice parks in area for a walk day. Amazing nice smily staff. Quite area with no noise. TV is good. Bed are comfy. And anything you like or want don't ever hesitate to ask for help. The lovely staff is always there. And of course most importantly the value for the money!
Ummm not much really. I would prefer electronic key instead of the old fashion metal key. And stayed in a room that the windows dont open. Still nothing serious
The hotel is lovely & comfortable, the staff are very helpful. We stayed prior to going on a cruise and were able to leave our car at the hotel which was fantastic. I would definitley recommend staying here to anyone cruising from Southampton
Good location. Friendly and very helpful welcome upon arrival by reception staff.
Room - good size and clean, a little tired in places, peeling wallpaper etc and absolutely roasting hot. The thoughtful provision by owners of a fan did help a lot `though. Breakfast - nice and tasty but presentation needs some attention.
Large comfortable bedroom. We requested a rear bedroom as we are light sleepers. Well cooked and hottest breakfast we have ever had. We only stayed one night pre Cruise. Owner very helpful in providing a map and directions to the Port which is 10 mins away. We would recommend this hotel
We loved the Elizabeth House Hotel. It is owner operated and they do a great job.
