Lovely food. Helpful staff. Excellent value for money
Beautiful scenery outside windows, comfy bed and very clean bathroom. Pleasant staff. Breakfast was great. 25 minute drive to Hadrians Wall.
Food was great but a bit expensive for pub food at dinner. However low cost of room balances this out.
Location, food, friendly staff
We stayed one night at the Elks Head Inn and really enjoyed it. All staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate in the bar for our evening meal (great atmosphere) and the food was excellent - wide menu choice and and good value. Our room was comfortable and clean. The full breakfast was also excellent. We would definitely recommend the Elks Head Inn for a relaxing stay in a picturesque setting with excellent food and drink on hand!
Nothing - we enjoyed everything about our one night stay. Thank you.
Good menu Quiet Beautiful spot-with car easy to get round various attractions Used by locals
Some inconsiderate residents who ignored do not slam door signs.
Remote quiet location but very good facilities.
The Elks Head Inn is a typical English pub, in a delightful setting. We would certainly stay there again.
WiFi very difficult to connect to.
Food was excellent and prices very reasonable.
Unfortunately we were a bit unlucky with the weather, which limited what we could do in the area.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast spread and the dinners were nice as well. Excellent location.
Size of the room was a bit tight. There was no wifi in our room, although one could get them in other rooms.
pub food nothing to write home about. breakfast usual fare poached eggs over enthusiastic with the vinegar
views of the car park a lot of noise. its a pub what can you expect?
Excellent Inn with Accommodation in central UK near Hadrians wall Really enjoyed stay great food wonderful staff and a great nights sleep.
Location was lovely , staff very good nothing was too much trouble .
Great for dogs
Strong smell of sewage
Location, stream and wood behind it were nice. and beer garden.
noise from kitchen fan, but it was turned off after kitchen closed
the food and the good staff
Friendly staff Woodland location Nearby river Excellent breakfast
Particularly hot spell during stay gave very stuffy room. Unfortunately, opening windows allowed in the bad smell of nearby stagnent water together with some annoying small insects and a few spiders. It appeared that the dining room tables had been coated with a water-based varnish causing many things to stick, such as a hot tea pot or coffee cups.
Good choise of food well cooked . Wine selection was very good and reasonable.
The peaceful location, excellent food, friendly atmosphere, comfortable bed.
Could have done with an extra chair in the bedroom.
Quiet, beautiful location close to Hadrian's walls. Has everything for a comfortable stay. Value for money. Loved the rogan josh. A little gem!
We ate dinner there and it was unbelievably great! Imagine having gourmet scallops in a small country inn and having them mouthwatering good! Also, the steak and ale pie. The pub was great, warm and welcoming. The owner was friendly and the dog was delightful :) Great location for visiting Hadrian's Wall.
Friendly staff, excellent food, pretty location and friendly dog!
Good service, good breakfast
Pub dinner substandard.
English country walks Good food and country pub atmosphere.
Extractor fan in toilet was faulty and drains smelled a bit.
