Beautiful scenery outside windows, comfy bed and very clean bathroom. Pleasant staff. Breakfast was great. 25 minute drive to Hadrians Wall.

Food was great but a bit expensive for pub food at dinner. However low cost of room balances this out.

We stayed one night at the Elks Head Inn and really enjoyed it. All staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate in the bar for our evening meal (great atmosphere) and the food was excellent - wide menu choice and and good value. Our room was comfortable and clean. The full breakfast was also excellent. We would definitely recommend the Elks Head Inn for a relaxing stay in a picturesque setting with excellent food and drink on hand!

Nothing - we enjoyed everything about our one night stay. Thank you.

The Elks Head Inn is a typical English pub, in a delightful setting. We would certainly stay there again.

WiFi very difficult to connect to.

Food was excellent and prices very reasonable.

Unfortunately we were a bit unlucky with the weather, which limited what we could do in the area.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast spread and the dinners were nice as well. Excellent location.

Size of the room was a bit tight. There was no wifi in our room, although one could get them in other rooms.

Friendly staff Woodland location Nearby river Excellent breakfast

Particularly hot spell during stay gave very stuffy room. Unfortunately, opening windows allowed in the bad smell of nearby stagnent water together with some annoying small insects and a few spiders. It appeared that the dining room tables had been coated with a water-based varnish causing many things to stick, such as a hot tea pot or coffee cups.

We ate dinner there and it was unbelievably great! Imagine having gourmet scallops in a small country inn and having them mouthwatering good! Also, the steak and ale pie. The pub was great, warm and welcoming. The owner was friendly and the dog was delightful :) Great location for visiting Hadrian's Wall.
