Very friendly helpfull staff no sign of govener.
It was nice an quiet and peaceful, just the way we like it, plus the staff are very friendly
The double and pillows were very very uncomfortable, need to invest in new pillows and mattresses as they were far too hard to be comfortable on them,
The location is nice if you are not an explorer willing to visit the surrounding area.
The bed and the food are not good as I would have expected.
Staff, Meals, Bar @ Dining area
Bedroom @ Bathroom damp smell and not clean
Laid back Friendly staff and customers Location View from room to river and bridge Food. Waited a while for breakfast, but this was due to the fact everything was cooked to order and piping hot. Bed was really comfortable and room was just right.
Nice and relaxing hotel- didn't arrive until after 9 so didn't evaluate the food- but have eaten here before and the food is good & recommended. Nice choice of real ale on tap- so kept me happy anyway!
Room 4 was over the air conditioning or cooler for the cellar and therefore this affected the otherwise nice and non existent noise
Friendliness of staff, the food particularly the excellent breakfast
Great staff very welcoming and polite also great food!"adel couldn't be more helpfull what a wonderfull young lady we will be coming back
Breakfast could do with being open from 7.30 as it made us late for shooting but can't complain as the food was good
Good value food, attentive service and a very pleasant location. Happily return for a longer stay.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, lovely location - great value for money
The floor was a bit creaky but nothing serious.
Good place to explore northumberland Good breakfasts and menu
To access some rooms you had to go outside and round the Inn in the open air
The location - beautiful. The staff - extremely friendly.
A little on the pricey side - charged £10 to let the dog stay!
Food and drink was nice.Staff friendly. The sound of stream with a soft inland murmer
Decor a bit tired..location a bit off the beaten track.
This inn was a real find, snuggled in a beautiful valley with spectacular views all round.Excellent position for exploring the countryside around Hadrian's Wall The staff were very friendly and welcoming.Food tasty and hot.The bread and butter pudding deserves a 10. We would definitely return and have already recommended it to friends
nothing to dislike
Location was excellent. Room had dual aspect with views of the river and gardens. Excellent breakfast and a good choice of evening meals.
Dividing walls between rooms were a bit thin but no serious noise problems - just open the window and enjoy the the sound of the river!
Half hour drive to Hadrians wall. Beautiful rural setting in deep woods with lovely stream and wildlife everywhere. Didn't mind the "off the beaten track" aspect since we had a beautiful drive through the Penine's getting there.
Could have been a little cleaner, but nothing of concern.
This was our second visit in a week and we returned because we were quite pleased with our stay, Nice location
This was our second visit in a week The room this time was in the pub (not the annex) and was very small. Although the breakfast was good the service was very slow and not very friendly
The breakfast and service was good. We were in the annex which was fine. staff very friendly
Friendly helpful staff Rural location Nice rooms Good food Traditional style pub
Wash basin too small for effective washing and shaving - and totally impossible to fill the kettle from.
Lovely fresh local ingredients - on the night that we stayed there were venison, wild duck, wild boar sausages, quail all on the specials menu for that evening as well as the regular menu with local produce such as ice - cream, and locally brewed beer in the steak and ale pie. The desserts on the specials board all looked super and our nephew assured us that his exceeded his high expectations. Not seeing a cheeseboard on the menu we asked if one could be rustled up; the terrific young waitress popped off to ask the chef then returned with good news - the resulting cheeseboard (for 2 of us) was one of the nicest selections I have had for a while and was accompanied by a pleasantly generous quantity of biscuits, celery and pickles and nicely presented to boot! Thank you! Great service, relaxed atmosphere, great value.
Great locatiuon, great welcome, great food and a very comfartable bed! This is a number one spot for a weary traveller!
Good surroundings Grear food good menu Very nice room fantastic breakfast choice
Lovely food. Helpful staff. Excellent value for money
Exactly what was advertised, friendly staff, good food, comfortable room and will visit again with friends
Time went too quickly
Beautiful scenery outside windows, comfy bed and very clean bathroom. Pleasant staff. Breakfast was great. 25 minute drive to Hadrians Wall.
Food was great but a bit expensive for pub food at dinner. However low cost of room balances this out.
