Score from 324 reviews Fabulous
the disabled shower had a 9-10 inch step to get into and out of so unusable safely for my disabled Mother. The room was dark and dingy and difficult to enter and exit as the space by the door was about 15 inches. if we had used the wheel chair we could not have even got into the room. Even with a disabled permit parking was very difficult
Excellent position, friendly service and very good breakfast. Extremely quiet. The room we had was onthe 4th floor but no problem as very efficient but small lift. The room was in excellent condition having been completely refurbished including a very modern en suite, the tea and coffee and the toileteries we plentiful and of high quality. Very comfortable stay.
Would be improved with a bar to make the lounge more accomodating.
The hotel was in a location that suited us
Rather faded and old fashioned, the shower was rubbish. Lighting in the room poor for reading. The breakfast content was good, but the bacon not cooked enough. Traffic very noisy in the early morning
the hotel was near the wish tower. My bed was comfortable, the room was clean & tea & coffee available & plenty of it. Shower was ok breakfast good. I would stay there again.
Location proximity to gallery theatre sea n tennis. Good Internet access.
As a non smoking hotel having to climb past smokers on the steps on arrival. smell in room , shower/ toilet room tiny with tile floor with most grouting missing so dangerous. Squeaky bed no offer of any breakfast though had not booked it but did not ask what we wanted just told full n could not accommodate us when dinning area had 2 people in, we only wanted cereal n toast not full English! Unfriendly unaccomodating dirty towel given . How is this 3 star? Disgusted!
Location was very good
Wasn't told that I could have a parking permit until a traffic warden told me! So wasted extra money on paying for parking ticket. Cooked breakfast - stodgy and very dry! Bed very uncomfortable & curtains wafer thin - so let the sun in at sunrise
The proprietor was extremely polite and helpful. Good disabled facilities. A lift to all floors, which was brilliant for someone my age whose health is not what it was! The room had everything needed for a spell of relaxation and recovery from a hectic day out.
Friendly staff, clean and comfy room, great breakfast. Easy walking around town. Close to restaurants. Sunroom well equipped and comfortable.
Very nice breakfast and friendly staff. Very comfortable beds and excellent wifi.
Bathroom door was weak by design but room was fine.
We liked the helpful owner who made us most welcome. The room/s were all clean. The location suited us a mile or so from the pier
The bathroom within the room was dated with a poorly fitted sliding door, the curtains were see through so light first thing. The whole room was in need of a fresh coat of paint.
for the airshow, location,location, location,
Wi Fi did not work in room 6, ok on the landing outside
Peter the owner excellent communication skills andlovely host allowed us to change room for our dog lillie who also had a great time.
Having to leave!
closeness to the beach and shops
the size of the room
We liked the convenience of the Ellesmere to all the theatres and it is not too far to the town centre. If you asked for anything they didn't have they tried their best to get it for you. Very generous with tea, coffee and milk in the room and clean towels every day if required. Very polite and helpful.
The only slight problem we had was getting the shower at a regular temperature - either too hot or too cold.
Peter went out of is way to help and was very accommodating with all our requests. Food was excellent and plentiful. Rooms are clean and tidy.
No bad thoughts about the hotel.
great old building walking distance to facilities and quiet. Great breakfast fantastic coffee.
Room dated no hot water in the morning.
Good location and easy
Decor poor the room obviously suffered from damp issues and when it rained smell of damp increased greatly. Carpet dirty especially in bathroom ugh! Very small opening window so room very stuffy had to leave fan on all night. With a revamp could be a lovely place.
breakfast was excellent big choice , plenty of it , always hot & freshly cooked . tables very clean 10 out of 10 THANKYOU
room a bit tired looking , very poor shower , poor loo flushing , dirty bins , washbasin not cleaned ,
the host was lovely and very helpful the place is close to both the sea an the centre and various places to eat and drink
our room was quite worn down, very clean though
very convenient location staff friendly and helpful room small but comfortable delicious breakfast
shower not brilliant and no soap very noisy outside at night (not hotel's fault!)
Hotel is a little worn. Met by the owner, Peter, very friendly welcome. Good room, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water. Excellently placed only 80 metres from sea front and beach. Breakfast was really good , plenty of choice, help yourself to the cooked breakfast. Got a car park ticket for £1 that lasted until 11 am next day. Will definitely use again when we go back to Eastbourne.
Nothing to dislike. Great value , very friendly and helpful owner
Breakfast hot and plenty
We had a large window that could not be opened in case of fire. No escape other than door into room which was on the fourth floor. Double glazing had failed so no view at all. Room needs serious update and decorating. Sliding door to en suite had no handle on one side and liable to come off rail.
I have been taking my mother to the hotel for the last 4 years, nothing is too much trouble and they even reserve the same room to assist as my mother has mobility problems.
