The owner was very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast . Rooms were warm and clean. Convenient location. Super tea and coffee making facilities in our room. We experienced difficulty flushing the toilet in our room. The decor was a little tired.

White towels. Good breakfast. Peeling wallpaper. Mismatched and damaged furniture. Awful bathroom. Bleach marks on bathroom carpet. Cheap loo roll. No colour scheme, everything mismatched. Just very shabby and old fashioned.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Ellesmere. I was only there for one night, as staying overnight after a friend's wedding, but I thought the staff were very friendly and couldn't do more to be helpful, which made a wonderful change from some of the hotels and B&Bs I've stayed in. It has a very homely and comfortable feeling. The whole place was very clean too. My double room was just the right size, and the ensuite was all that I needed. There was small flat screen TV up on the wall, with awide range of digital channels and Radio stations. The supply of tea and coffee was plentiful, and the bed was a large double. The buffet breakfast in the morning was excellent, and the cooked full English was freshly cooked and topped up with fried eggs, mushrooms, bacon, sausages (particularly good!), tomatoes, and baked beans. There was also toast, cereals, yogurts, fruit, apple and orange juice, and tea and coffee. I would definitely stay at The Ellesmere again and recommend it to other people. The mattress in the double bed I had was a little too hard for me, and even though I really liked the homely traditional feeling of the whole place, I felt that the decore could do with some updating.

Location 100yds from beach and walking distance to South Downs, Bathroom modern and up-to-date. Clean and friendly. Free Parking but min 200yds away. Dried out breakfast unless first down. Cramped dining just was not enough space if fully booked.

The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The manager/owner was friendly and helpful. (excelent recommendation to visit the nearby theatre) Price was very competitive for the Premier Inn/Travelodge market. Good breakfast too. Very enjoyable experience all round. No dedicated hotel parking, (but in fairness free on-street parking was not far away, but during the busy season I think this could be an issue)
