Friendly staff, nice location, very handy for Sherwood & Clumber Park if driving

Bathroom not dirty but dated and old sealant made it not very appealling. Do need to fix the front door which has dropped and makes a terrible racket when opened.

Full Breakfast was good

Dinner was very ordinary ( I guess it represented the price. The bedroom neede a fan as it was very warm, with only one small window. Also the noise from the extractor fan in the kitchen was unpleasant

Very large bed and room with sofa so space to sit, not just the bed. Friendly and helpful staff, pleasant and cheerful. Very clean.

Shower pressure was low but understandable in such an old property. Shower curtain, which was clean, but not nice as the material which clings to you so not pleasant.

Restaurant was on site and neighborhood was pleasant to walk.

Room lighting was marginal.

Friendly staff and nice location. The bar food was simple, reasonably priced and tasty.

The floorboards were very squeaky and there was some sort of generator/machine operating nearby, throughout the night, which made sleeping a bit of a problem.

The rooms were in a separate building - enterance was not restricted by keys or cctv montinoring Room is too small especially if travelling with a kid

Value for money. Easy to find. Private and quiet. Clean and good sized room.

Attitude of some staff members. Lack of key on arrival, and no remote for the 2 tv's in the room. Matress could also do with replacing soon.

Staff very polite nothing was a trouble for them highly recommend this hotel

Squeaky floors

The accommodation was warm and comfortable despite the very cold weather we had. Food was reasonable and restaurant was family friendly.

The Stables block has VERY squeaky floorboards and noise travelled from other rooms - quite disturbing when it was busy.

This place is perfectly acceptable for a short stay. All the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. We had to curtail our visit, due to bad weather, after one night, but the lady on duty was very helpful and understanding of our change of plan. The cooked breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable after walking through the snow to get to it!

Our accommodation was in a separate annexe and so we had to put on our winter coats to walk across a very cold and snowy path to get to breakfast.

Clean warm bedroom away from the hustle and bustle of the pub. Friendly polite staff.

Creaky flooring when walking in the bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom extractor very loud and only had shower with no bath.

Very comfortable large twin room in main hotel, beds good, warm & very clean.

Stay only spoilt in room 5 by a constant low humming - from inside bathroom?

not very good at breakfast. start at 8am doors still locked at 8-10 tables notnset up staff in track suits not a good reflection for guests

Booking in and out good as well as food

Room 19 in the Stable block! Underfloor heating too hot for comfort. Open window and noise from air con unit on wall of main house unbearably loud so little sleep! On making my complaint, reception was aware of the problem and gave me four pound refund.

Evening meal was good value for money. Drinks very resonably priced Good locationof hotel

Room was in a converted stable block. Partion walls do not have very good soundproofing. Floor boards are loose and very creakey as well as the adjoining rooms which meant that we did not get a good night sleep

The staff are always lovely. Prices are excellent. Food is good. Always a pleasant stay

Staff were lovely, very helpful. Room was cleanish and warm. We were there mid-week, but be aware that the hotel is also a "family-pub-restaurant" with a function room, so it would be good the check that you are not booked in to a hotel with e.g. a wedding reception going on the same evening! Having said that, no functions when we were there, and our room was right over the pub/restaurant bit and we had little if any noise disturbance. Seems that the issue with the room door locks has been mentioned before...... Could not see any Elms in the gardens! ;-)

Room door lock broken/incorrectly fitted. We ended up being locked in to the room. Seems the "new" Yale type locks recently fitted have a fault, and can allow the lock mechanism to be turned too far on the key. You can then remove the key from the outside ok, but when the door closes behind you - you are locked in - and it cannot be opened using the handle from the inside. No telephones in the room, so we ended up ringing the hotel main number using a mobile phone. The staff rescued us pretty quickly! We slept with the chain on the door - as no other rooms were available. We were offered another room for our second night, but not needed as we were comfortable that the "lock" issue was manageable.

Relaxing setting. Clean, modern, well equipped and comfortable rooms. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good food.

we stayed in executive room, and no way did it warrant that.curtains hanging off no remotes for tv's and no available staff for hotel after 6pm.Bar staff had no idea about an ordered taxi..poor really

The fact that three tiles fell off the shower due to Black mold and the edge of the bath had mold growth along the edge; I can supply a picture if you like?
