Totally enjoyable from arrival until leaving. The rooms were lovely and clean and the Staff very helpful and attentive. Looking forward to returning asap.
Having to leave.
The view, the staff and the location
The dated rooms and the single glazing
Great Views from all rooms Very good value for a single room I still had a bath! Wine a glass very inexpensive
Bit dated , but very friendly service, and great value and amaxing location
Location of our room Manager very helpful Entertainment in the evening Good food
Comfortable, welcoming and reasonable quality food. A most enjoyable stay.
Nothing to dislike.
Small double bed room too hot on arrival
The views were exceptional being on the third floor. Random visits from wildlife e.g. Seagulls The room was very clean.
The Dining room views and the view from our bedroom window. Everywhere was warm and comfortable. Friendly staff. Parking available.
Bedrooms a little dated but have all basic facilities, so not really a drawback.
fscilites good well stocked bar
little worn needs updating
Lunch was excellent quality with friendly service. The terrace overlooking the sea gives a lovely view. Our bedroom also had a sea view and was spacious.Car park was adequate. Location was handy.
Breakfast was disappointing-the cooked meal was congealed which would account for the very fast service (it wasn't cooked from scratch) and there wasn't a great range of cereals. The machine for making the toast either burned the bread or underdid it. The bed needs replacing-you can feel the springs. The bath tiles in the bathroom were not clean and hadn't been cleaned for some time. You could see the water marks and the tiles felt sticky!
On arrival we were met by polite and friendly staff, we were registered promptly given our room keys and informed about meals etc. Our room was on the fourth floor a corner room so it had two windows looking out over the sea and harbour in the distance and over the Esplanade and sea from the other. The room was spacious with a decent size flat screen tv and tea and coffee making facilities. The bath room was of generous proportion and included a bath with shower hose attached to the top Overall a nice clean room and bedding..We would stay again.
The bathroom floor was grubby the corners were dusty and it was obvious the floor had not been washed properly for some time. The floors were very uneven and creaked loudly especially in the bathroom which could be very annoying for the people in the room below.
Location very good.
Rooms overpriced and 1980s period furniture.£75.00 a night.iv paid less and stayed in better.£75.00 for a double room and got put in a dated family room.bar very poor atmosphere.
Excellent view from both bedroom and dining room. Breakfast good. Overall, accommodation was good for price charged.
The Esplanade is a well presented classic seaside Hotel that welcomes Dogs who stay for Free!!!! It deserves it's 3 stars and is clean and comfortable but above all very welcoming. Free off road parking which is a real plus in this area.
Nothing of note.
I liked the views and location
Limited Car parking. My mother has difficulty walking and there were no guarantees that I could park near the entrance. Light levels in rooms were poor. Shower wasn't great.
decor needs updating squeking floorboards
Clean & friendly with amazing view from restaurant. Very clean. Very reasonable and first class staff.
Relaxing weekend away with my partner, the hotel is in a good position parking is mainly on street as hotel only had about 8 spaces but we where able to get a permit from hotel for £1 that lasted from Saturday to Monday morning so can't complain. Breakfast was good but a little steep in price of £7
Bad mattresses very poor nights sleep
Our room had an AMAZING sea view and view of the harbour.
The bed was very hard and the pillows very very thin and uncomfortable. At breakfast we were sat on a table for two in a very dark corner and were trapped in by other people at tables meaning we had to ask them to move so we could get out.
Excellent welcome, friendly and informative staff, location was ideal, quiet but close enough to the local amenities with excellent views across the bay.
Although clean, the room and general appearance of the hotel decor was quite dated
The views & location
I had to collect my newspaper @ reception !
The friendly staff and warm welcome. The bedroom was large and airey beaming with light. Spotlessly clean in all areas. Very pleased overall!
Lack of inspiration in menus.
Peeling wallpaper. Bedside cabinet had big hole where a radio should have been. Creaking floors. Poor staff attitude.
