Mentioned when booking it was our anniversary & they decorated with balloons + chocolates in our room & dinner table, how thoughtful
Little cold in dinning room
we were all in sea view rooms to which I rang through to reception, because I had only booked one double with sea view for my friends for a xmas present and thought I was in there room, but to my surprise we were all allocated sea view rooms, and the receptionist went that little bit further and put chocolates and balloons in my friends room, after I had informed her it was given to them as a present..... FANTASTIC....SERVICE,will be rebooking .....
Milk, cookies and a bedtime story for the kids and cocktails for the grown ups!
Pool full of kids, bit of a low budget refurb not as good as I expected from the website. One night was enough for me.
Amazing view, stylish bathroom and delicious breakfasts. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Dreadful "music" at breakfast----------steady electronic beat, beat ,no melody, drove me mad. Only the food and view distracted me! Does there have to be sound?
Location and view from the front of the hotel is stunning.
Coach parties, minimal menu, rooms were not what was requested. Single business traveller gets family room with three beds. Awkward layout, had to walk a long way to get to room. Loud event kept me awake. Basically, the hotel is in need of modernising and then along with the location, it would be fantastic!
Staff Pool View
Bed was really hard
We liked everything especially the staff. So helpful.Thank you so much.
There was a problem with our radiator on the first night but we managed to stay warm and all was resolved in the morning.Thank you to your lovely staff.
Food was not fresh and dessert was dryed up as if it had been there for a while
room with a fabulous view. staff very helpful and polite. champagne chocolates and heart shaped towels on the bed. spotlessly clean room.
wasnt advised that hotel would be full of tinsel and turkey people. not being informed that the debit card held for any "Extras" would not be repaid into my bank account immediately when the final bill was paid. Apparently this takes several days to be returned. still waiting for this to happen.
We arrived on Xmas Day at 11am Room wasn,t ready but they stored our luggage. The residents Xmas lunch was at 1pm. We asked if we could get something to eat and they didn't,t hesitate said as it was a set lunch because of Xmas day. The bar meals weren't,t available but they could do a sandwich with any filling ee would like. Sandwich was superb with side salad crisps and chutney Also 2 lattes ordered from the bar
csnnot think of a single thing
Our room had a wonderful sea view. Room was nice and warm (very cold outside!). All in all, happy with the room.
Our stay got off to a bumpy start with confusion over our booking. We originally booked a room only stay, then had a call from the hotel a couple of days before our trip telling us that we actually had the Christmas package. I advised the hotel I didn't know I had booked the Christmas package and that I’d already reserved Christmas lunch at The Esplanade’s sister hotel The Fistral Beach Hotel. The hotel then went on to explain all the things that I would get with my break and that she would cancel my Christmas lunch at The Fistral Beach Hotel as I would be having it at The Esplanade as part of the package. She then sent me over an itinerary which listed what was included in the Christmas break (breakfast, lunch, dinner and entertainment). A couple of days later, we arrived at the hotel and checked-in, so far so good. Then, when we went for our evening meal, we were told that we had the room only package. I said that it was disappointing that they only told us just before we went for our first meal, and that there had been opportunities to call or email us beforehand that they had made a mistake. The receptionist could have also told us when we checked in. The hotel told us that they did try and contact us, although when I checked my emails, missed calls and voicemails there didn’t seem to be any communication from the hotel. After speaking to the on-duty manager and the head manager about not being told about the mistake sooner, the hotel did honour the Christmas package. I completely appreciate that we did end up with more than we paid for, but that initial experience at The Esplanade wasn't the best start to our stay in Newquay.
the quilts were thin and cold
room size great, comfortable bed, reception area lovely ans spacious, clean friendly staff
cold shower tv too high noisy people above us at 3.40am
The hotels seaview rooms look directly over Fistral beach.
Wifi was shocking. Couldn't connect at all.
- Sea view room - Service - Friendly staff I've stayed here a few times now and always do when I'm visiting. It's such good value for money and everyone is just so friendly
- No gym and can't use the one in the Fistral (sister hotel). But then there is a beach to run on and a swimming pool so not really a complaint - Poor wifi when I stayed possibly sue to bad weather. Although maybe a blessing in disguise!!!
Liz on reception was very efficent, friendly and polite. Facilities were wonderful for our family: swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, children's softplay area, outside play are! We had the most fantastic holiday and would highly recommend this hotel; we will definitely go back!
Plenty to do for kids
Swimming Pool was lovely and warm. Jacuzzi was also nice.
Parking. I don't mind paying for parking, at reasonable prices, but £10 to reserve a space per night is a bit steep when people still park in your space.
Location is Excellent
Room 234. Water pressure was awful. Wallpaper peeling off next to radiator. A little bit of a refurb, new carpet, wall paper and better shower and I wouldn't have left a little disappointed.
Late check out option for £20, until 2pm
Location, views, cleanliness, civility of staff
dark and depressing room, uncomfortable bed, paying £10 for parking
The hotel was in an excellent location the staff were very helpful and polite. The lounge was comfortable with a fantastic view of the beach. Breakfast was varied and delicious and the prices were very reasonable.
The Wi-fi was very inconsistent, and difficult to access in the room and although the bed was comfortable it was two singles pushed together.
The very well stocked tea tray and lovely espy toiletries
reasonable size rooms. Nice hotel staff. Good bed and good heating /especially being there in winter/ Good breakfast during weekend but poor and not enough during the week. Good wifi too. Pool, jakuzzi, sauna. Worth to go there.
No fridge in the room. Parking is difficult during peek time and is payable, eccept in winter.
