bar close at 10pm floor creaks horibbly bed matrace was horribly hard, I couldn'r sleep
Location right next to rail station, easy access to London. Hotel price about half than central London so worth considering for weekend stays etc
Bathroom needs updating. Windows rusty and damp (single glazed), bit of mould on the wall (due to dampness).
No hot water but was given another room with no hot water
Friendly polite staff willing to go the extra mile. Thank you - South Africans ;-)
Cooked breakfast was quite greasy. Hash browns were particularly nasty. Breakfast price was reasonable but I would pay more to have better quality food
The Staff were pleasant but overworked.
The Room number 27......damp with mould on the walls and roller blind in bathroom.Heater in room noisy,no soap in dispensers and dirty window sills. Breakfast....too many people and too few staff.
Staff are friendly and helpful
Good breakfast, served promptly
Erratic keycard system that required frequent revalidation.
Welcoming staff. Good sized bedroom and bathroom.
10 minute wait for hot water at 7pm. Room had leaking lavatory and drain from shower unit needed attention. All mentioned to staff.
The pub Very friendly staff Walking distance to the train station Very good breakfast
The Ethorpe is a warm and welcoming place to stay and the staff are excellent, friendly and welcoming. Would not hesitate to return in the future.
Room was cold when we arrived
Jacuzzi bath was amazing, pretty good comfort level in four poster bed, staff friendly and welcoming. Great location, minutes from train line into London, Wembley Stadium and Arena are less than 30 minutes away.
Instructions for how to turn on jacuzzi aren't exactly accurate, but, we managed in the end.
Staff and parking
Cold room when we arrived late evening
Staff couldn't have been more helpful when I asked about heating and towels - a portable heater and towels arrived in my room within minutes. Also the gentleman on the night desk even offered for me to change rooms to avoid the noise. So whilst some frustrations the polite and sincere attention of the staff was enough to smooth anything over.
No heat on in my room when I arrived and no towels in the bathroom. I wouldn't want to stay in room 24 again as I was disturbed until after 1.30am by intermittent but regular machine noise like a tumble drier - apparently it was extractor fans in the bar and kitchen that had been turned off but would take some time to stop running.
this is a regular stop over for me in London but far enough out to be quiet = staff are wonderful you can have a laugh with them and even when its busy they seem to smile through it
guests who think its ok to be rude to the staff
Efficient check in.Good location and facilities.
Comfortable quiet room, good breakfast, friendly staff who took a genuine interest in me and even remembered where I went one night and asked me about it.
Bit hard to find with a Satnav, would have benefited with some directions. Don't really like those soap dispenser things you get in the lower cost hotels. When in the bath you have to keep standing up to get more soap. I wasn't expecting that here.
The staff were very accommodating and made us feel at home. There was a problem with the aircon/heater and they came promptly with a portable heater. We needed a room to use for the next day at the last minute and the manager kindly let us have the last room without charge, as long as we didn't use the shower (which we didn't need to!). Thank you!
Staff were friendly and helpful Breakfast was quite pleasant
Lavatory not clean enough No toiletries as promised on website, e.g. shampoo Bed gave me backache and i could not sleep I understood that breakfast was included but it wasn't
Quiet, convenient, comfortable, old fashioned charm, good parking, with friendly helpful staff. Warm and welcoming on cold nights
It's time for the mattress in No 7 to be replaced - not as comfortable as other rooms. And the kettle - failed to switch off each time when boiled, could be dangerous if children in room
Open fire very welcoming, super festive menu, ( game ) VERY pleasant staff, good prices.
No bars on the bath, shower and bath taps needed a good clean ! also the extractor fan.
The hotel was well placed, and very quiet during the night. The staff at reception and on breakfast service were very polite.
The room could do with a little updating, missing tie back and broken shower gel dispensers - not too much of a problem but the room price was in the middle price bracket for area. Bed was very soft so bad backache the next morning. No fresh fruit at breakfast , although advertised on the menu.
